With the Euros in full swing, football fans will be flocking to venues across the city to cheer on their team. One of those is Propyard, now called The Prospect Building, on Feeder Road, which is playing host to a football fan park this summer, in addition to a string of other events.

Tickets for each England Euros match, with some dates incorporating more than one match into celebrations, are almost all sold out, with between 75% and 90% of tickets already allocated for the next three games (at time of writing). Each date consists of its own sporting legend - including the likes of Ian Holloway, James Beattie and Lee Trundle, among more yet to be announced.

It comes following the permanent closure of the Propyard venue back in April, and the announcement earlier this month that it will be taken over by London firm AMAAD and renamed 'Prospect'. The news has confused many who used to attend events at the venue - so here's all we know so far about the future of the site, including the football fan park and the events coming up in the next few months...

When and why did Propyard close?

Propyard closed suddenly back in April of this year, with its website and social media channels either appearing void of content, or disappearing completely. On Google, the venue is still listed to this day as being 'permanently closed'.

The closure came following a series of financial difficulties and cancelled events. At the end of last year, the venue cancelled all of its remaining Winterland events due to 'increased costs' amid the cost of living crisis.

The announcement to cancel the event was made following a number of complaints made by customers a week prior, who had turned up to find that the venue had been temporarily closed without warning, leaving some out of pocket. In a statement made on December 8, the team at Propyard apologised for the inconvenience, saying they had 'some unexpected challenges' with their heating system, which meant that they had to close the venue and refund ticket holders across a number of evenings. The statement added the venue was by that time back open and 'operating as normal'.

Then on Wednesday, December 13, the Propyard Team told Bristol Live the rest of its Winterland dates would be cancelled with immediate effect. The statement said: "We are sad to announce that we will be cancelling the remaining Winterland dates at Propyard this year.

"In the current economic climate, we are experiencing increased costs for fuel, staff, and goods which sadly has made the events unfeasible. We will be reopening for our huge New Year's Eve celebration and are looking forward to a series of new collaborations and experiences at the venue in the new year."

How long will Propyard remain a football fan park/village?

According to hosts 'For The Fans' website, the final event taking place here is on June 29, however this is 'to be confirmed'. For The Fans is the same brand that put together previous Euro and World Cup Fan Parks, across the country.

The Bristol Fan Park at Propyard/Prospect (or 45 Feeder Road) boasts 'big anti-glare screens', food and drink, live DJs, and football legends in attendance. Plus, interactive aspects, as well as DJs. Tickets range from £6 for general admission to £10-£15 for premium inside and outside table seats.

What will the future 'Prospect' venue look like?

The 25,000sqft warehouse in St Philips, which was transformed into the Propyard events space, has been taken over by London firm AMAAD, who have renamed it 'Prospect', or 'The Prospect Building' and opened officially this month. The firm says it will invest heavily in creating a venue which will host entertainment, comedy, sport and music, as well as pop-up food, drink and fashion markets.

AMAAD is the team behind some of Europe’s most celebrated festivals, including Love Supreme, The Long Road, ION and Junction 2, and it is pledging to work with local Bristol promoters like Team Love, The Blast and Dance Corp, to bring a range of music events and festivals to the space.

In addition to the Euro Fan Park currently on the site, other upcoming events at The Prospect Building include:

You can even hire out the venue in totality or as a bespoke mix of spaces, to suit every brief and scale.
