An assumption is always made that celebrities' beauty cupboards are filled with lotions, potions, creams and make-up products that cost more than our weekly food shop. But Britain's Got Talent's Amanda Holden has recently revealed her go-to foundation - and one product she cannot go without is the Makeup Revolution's Silk Serum Foundation, which only costs £10.99.

Giving fans an insight into her beauty routine, the Alan & Amanda's Italian Job star posted a video on Instagram in which she had collaborated with beauty editorial platform Eliza to 'spill her insider secrets on shopping, beauty, BGT and her new collection with Lipsy'.

When asked 'What is the one beauty product you couldn't live without?' the 53-year-old actress and judge - who has recently teamed up with Revolution Pro to launch a new skincare range - shared: "I do love my Revolution Silk Foundation. Anything too creamy, it goes into the cracks - as my 12-year-old likes to point out."

As a skincare-make-up hybrid, it's no wonder the star loves the formula as the peptide-infused foundation not only provides light to medium coverage (and visibly blurs imperfections and brightens your skin), but thanks to its inclusion of hyaluronic acid as well as peptides, your skin is left hydrated, soft and supple.

Coming in 20 different shades, it's not just Amanda who loves this wonder make-up product as on Revolution's website it has accrued over 1,000 rave reviews (having only recently launched), with many claiming it feels like a 'second skin'.

One wrote: "This new serum is fab! It’s lightweight and feels like a second skin - it doesn’t dull my 50-something skin and works brilliantly with the wonderful glow balms Rev do."

Another chimed: "Bought shade F7 which is a perfect match for my skin without a tan. Glides on , covers redness and feels like skin can breathe . Buildable coverage without cakiness .Better than more expensive foundations I’ve used."

A third stated: "This is a beautiful foundation. It’s a light coverage, so if your after the ‘your skin but better’ look this is for you. It covers my dark patches well." Despite adding that it "doesn’t quite cover spot scars", with a bit of concealer, you're sorted. They concluded: "Breathable too, most foundation make me break out this one doesn’t (winner!!)."

While for the most part, make-up buffs loved this product, some who have oily skin weren't too fond of it stating it 'ended up sliding off' - although one shopper added: " The one thing i would say is that in the summer this might work better when you're looking for a more dewy look."

The Makeup Revolution Skin Silk Serum Foundation costs £10.99

If this foundation-skincare hybrid isn't quite for you, there are several alternatives on the high street that do the trick, such as PrettyLittleThing's Serum Foundation, which is currently on sale for £5.50. Many beauty fans have likened this to the more expensive Nars Light Reflecting Foundation, £39.

Alternatively, L'Oreal Paris True Match Tinted Serum Foundation is a gorgeous lightweight foundation serum that provides light coverage - perfect for the warmer months and holidays when you don't want a heavy coverage. Costing £11.20 on Amazon currently, the Molly-Mae Hague favourite is packed with hyaluronic acid and leaves your face hydrated, plumped and even.

If you're willing to spend a little more on quality, Estée Lauder's Futurist SkinTint Serum Foundation contains SPF20 and, at £49, has been hailed for leaving skin looking 'fresh and natural with a healthy glow'.
