BBC inclusive opportunities: webinars, job positions, and more!

We are delighted to announce that the BBC has invited us to help promote a series of webinars, demonstrating their commitment to hiring more disabled and neurodivergent talents.

The BBC is dedicated to finding the best Deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent candidates from across the UK for positions within the organisation.

Over the course of the next 12 months they will be running a series of activities and initiatives to engage with Deaf, Disabled and ND talent for roles across the BBC. This will include:

• Ring fenced roles across BBC News, Content and Nations.

• Building a talent pool that we ill update with relevant roles and opportunities.

• Release online content featuring personal stories from those within the BBC.

• Events and workshops across the UK including Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff and London.

• Webinars for all covering topics such as interview advice, meet the staff networks, reasonable adjustments and more!

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

They have got roles in journalism, content production and production management opening up over the next few months. Many of these roles will be ring-fenced for deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent candidates to apply for.

WEBINARS

They will be running a series of webinars, open days, and workshops across the UK including BBC bases in Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff, London and Salford.

First off, they have three 45-minute webinars that will offer insight and advice on BBC interviews, personal experiences, and reasonable adjustments. More details below:

Session 1: This is My BBC

Date: Wednesday 25th October

Time: 11:00-11:45

BBC’s D&I Disability Lead, Robbie Crow will be speaking to a panel of current staff members who identify as deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent. This session will give you an insight into their support networks, their challenges and what they wish they knew before working at the BBC!

Session 2: Let’s Talk About Adjustments

Date: Thursday 26th October

Time: 13:00-13:45

Let’s talk Workplace Adjustments at the BBC.

The BBC is committed to making sure disabled people have the adjustments in place that they need to do their role. At this session we’ll talk about the importance of adjustments, the role of BBC’s dedicated Access & Disability Service, the DWP’s Access to Work fund, and there’ll be an opportunity to ask questions about adjustments at the BBC.

Session 3: Demystifying applications and interviews

This session will explain the BBC’s recruitment process. Learn from hiring managers and talent acquisition experts on their top tips for CVs and applications and how to showcase your best self in interviews

These webinars are just the beginning of the BBC’s commitment to recruit more Deaf, disabled and neurodiverse talent. Later in the year and continuing into 2024, there will be Open Days across a number of BBC Locations including Pacific Quay in Glasgow and the Newsroom in London Broadcasting House.
