Alzheimer's disease is a major public health issue in Texas. An estimated 6.9 million Americans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's in 2024. In 2020, approximately 459,300 Texans age 65 and older are living with Alzheimer’s. Without a cure or a way to slow or prevent it, the number of Americans age 65 and older with Alzheimer's disease is projected to reach 12.7 million people by 2050.
