A man has been stabbed in the chest during an attack in Basildon which police believe was attempted murder. The man was rushed to hospital following the serious assault on Tuesday (May 14) which has seen two people arrested.

Essex Police were called to Travers Way following reports a man in his 30s had sustained a stab wound at around 8.50pm. He was taken to hospital with a serious chest injury but his condition is not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Yesterday two men from Basildon, aged 19 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, being concerned in the supply of drugs, and possession of Class A drugs. They are currently in custody for questioning.
