EasyJet has announced 130 new jobs will be created when they build a new base at Southend Airport. The plans to expand in Southend include establishing a new base at the airport with three planes which will be flying to six new holiday destinations in Europe and North Africa.

From May 1, 2025, holidaymakers will be able to travel to Pisa, Gran Canaria, Dalaman and Antalya, Marrakech and Enfidha in Tunisia, thanks to the planned expansion from easyJet. From May 17 this year, jet setters will be able to book their holiday flying from Southend Airport, with flights departing seven days per week.

A further announcement will be made launching more holiday destinations from Southend Airport. This makes Southend Airport easyJet's tenth base and will create 130 direct jobs in the area with many other jobs set to be made as a result of the expansion.
