A RODENT’S NIGHTMARE

I was behind deadline and this column wasn’t going to write itself. I’d given myself enough excuses, now it was time to make my way to my office and get to work. The route to my computer had become an obstacle course during lockdown, with towers of books, piles of papers, empty coffee mugs and even a stuffed barn owl blocking the way.

This unfortunate owl was killed by a car, as so many are.
