She graduated from Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and received her advanced degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois. She was a recipient of an award from Phi Kapa Phi Foundation, The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. She was married to Howard J. Yambura for 51 years. She died in Colorado Springs in 2009 at the age of 91.view less
