Sberbank announces that a new partner has joined its instant transfer ecosystem.

Thanks to the partnership with international payment system WebMoney Transfer, clients can now make instant transfers from Sberbank cards to WebMoney purses and vice versa. Only the recipient’s phone number (which the card or purse is tied to) is needed to transfer money to a Sberbank card. Money is transferred instantly.

Igor Manontov, Vice President of Sberbank and Director of the Payments and Transfers Division:

“Sberbank continues to develop its instant transfer ecosystem. The popularity of this service continues to grow, and we are committed to making it even more convenient by bringing new partners on board and adding to the list of available functions. Now transfers from Sberbank cards to WebMoney purses are as simple as transferring money from one Sberbank client to another - all you need to know is the recipient’s phone number.”

Pyotr Darakhvelidze, Director for Development of WebMoney Transfer:

“Money transfers that only require a telephone number is a convenient and understandable trend. We are pleased to join the biggest instant transfer system, which is offered by Sberbank.”

A 2.3% commission fee is applied to transfers made from WebMoney to Sberbank cards. The fee is paid by the sender. The recipient does pay any fees.

Earlier, partners such as Tinkoff Bank and Syaznoy І Evroset joined Sberbank’s instant payment system.
