The Firearms Registry was launched one year ago. 

We’re making great progress with more than 220,000 firearms registered by 46,000 licence holders. That’s around 20% of all licence holders in New Zealand. 

We would like to acknowledge all the licence holders who have registered their firearms so far. 

Together we’re creating a record of all lawfully held firearms. This better supports frontline Police and helps make our communities safer by making it easier to locate and track firearms when they change hands.
