Raising women’s income could pull over 700,000 people out of poverty, World Bank reports

If women participated equally with men in economic activities, national income in Uzbekistan would increase by 29%. This finding comes from a country gender assessment conducted by the World Bank with the assistance of the UK government.

All buildings with mosaics in Tashkent freed from advertising banners

All residential buildings with mosaics in Tashkent have been cleared of advertising banners, the city hokimiyat and Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation said. Over two months, more than 40 mosaics have been uncovered, and some 30 more works have been returned to the public since 2021.
