** spoiler alert ** Just ridiculous. Michael Sullivan aka The Butcher a psychopathic hitman and rapist. The ending was bizarre with one minute he is escaping in a car and having a shootout with Alex and then surrounded by his family. Or am I missing something?

The short chapters and brutality are just so way over the top. Alex should be struck off as a therapist. No therapist would confront the abuser and beat them up Confidentiality is paramount in a patient and therapist relationship.

The family of Alex is just too perfect. An octogenarian Nana who does all the cooking, cleaning and child minding. The kids are so well behaved it’s scary!

I am bemused by the incompetence of the police,FBI and there is never any mention of forensic evidence. It is concerning I still read Patterson but at least I avoid the ghost written ones he signs his name too. Still his formula is entertaining and unintentionally laugh out loud funny in places 😄
