Some of you will recognize the new face on Law &Order, if you were ever a fan of Fox’s drama “Prison Break” back in the day, then you will recognize Dean Norris. You might also recognize him from other roles such as Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Uncle Daddy in Claws, and “Big Jim” Rennie on the CBS series “Under the Dome” The actor has been in nearly 50 movies and over 100 different TV shows.
Law And Order Spoilers – Family Tension?
In Law & Order, he portrays Randall Stabler, brother to Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and will be a series regular on the fifth season premiering on Peacock.
Apparently, his character is returning in order to help take care of their Mom, Bernadette, portrayed by Ellen Burstyn. What is the drama between these two? It goes way back an incident involving their Father years prior, though right now we don’t know what that is.

Law & Order Svu star Ice-t hasn’t grown tired of working alongside Mariska Hargitay even after the pair being partners for over two decades. Not too long ago, Ice-t shared what he admired most about the Svu veteran.
What Ice-t and Mariska Hargitay had in common Ice-t and Mariska Hargitay | Arturo Holmes/WireImage
Neither Ice-t nor Hargitay knew what to expect from each other when they first met. The music artist didn’t even think he’d be acting in Svu for too long, let alone for 25 years. So he had no clue that Hargitay would soon be like family to him.
“It was interesting, because I only came on for four episodes, so I didn’t know how long I was going to have to be around the people. You’re walking into a room full of people you don’t really know. I didn’t know Chris...

Ice T is shutting down a Law & Order: Svu fan who claims the show has gone “woke.”
The rapper and star of the NBC procedural was asked on social media if the new season would go “back to normal” as “it started to go woke.”
In a quoted post on X, the microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter, Ice T said, “What the F is Woke? lol Like I give a F***.”

The actor quoted the message and added, “That sounds Dope… F John Wayne.”

Law & Order: Organized Crime‘s Elliot Stabler is going to have more time to spend with his brother Randall this season: Dean Norris has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming Season 5, a source confirms to TVLine. (Our sister site Deadline first reported the news.)
Norris recurred last season on Organized Crime — which, we should note, is moving to Peacock after four seasons on NBC — as real estate developer Randall Stabler, the older brother of Christopher Meloni’s Elliot Stabler. In Season 4, Randall was shown to have a shaky relationship with Elliot. (In fact, they came to blows at a tumultuous family dinner.

Ice-t has brushed off recent criticism that Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has become too “woke” in its recent seasons.
The 66-year-old actor, who has played Sergeant Odafin “Fin” Tutuola on the NBC crime show since 2000, replied to a fan’s comment on social media platform X. When the fan asked if the show had gone back to “normal” after supposedly becoming “woke,” Ice-t responded honestly, saying he didn’t really understand what “woke” meant and didn’t care much about such criticisms.
Ice-t’s role as Tutuola is the second longest-running character in the show’s history, surpassed only by Mariska Hargitay‘s Olivia Benson. In a January interview, the actor described Svu as a “special” series, noting its unique impact on viewers.

If you’re a fan of “Law & Order: Svu” and you think the sex crime drama series has gotten more “woke” over its 25 seasons, star Ice-t doesn’t give a you-know-what.

The Season 23 finale of “Law & Order” left the fate of Tony Goldwyn’s D.A. Nicholas Baxter up in the air on election night, but showrunner Rick Eid told TheWrap ahead of the Oct. 3 premiere that the character has indeed won and will be back for the entire season.
He also promised that Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) will be “a big part” of the second episode, about the murder of a tech CEO. “[Benson] has a pre-existing relationship with the defendant in this case,” said Eid. “It’s really a big part of the episode. It felt organic to who Mariska’s character is, and it was an interesting element to the story that gave it another layer.”
Eid said the crossover, which also sees the return of Elizabeth Marvel’s character Defense Attorney Rita Calhoun, is more “organic” than some of the previous three-series premieres that included “Law & Order: Organized Crime.

Sure, it won’t be the same now that there won’t be Law & Order Thursdays on NBC anymore, with Found taking over the third hour of the night with the original and Svu, but that doesn’t mean the move to Peacock is a bad thing for Law & Order: Organized Crime (the subscription fee aside). The newest series in the franchise was the only one not renewed when NBC announced it was bringing back Law & Order, Svu, and the One Chicago series for the 2024-2025 season in March 2024. Then rumors started to circulate that Organized Crime could be moving to Peacock for Season 5, and that became official in May one week ahead of the finale. Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler fans, your wish for a reunion has been granted! Back in May, Mariska Hargitay shared that the two characters would share the same screen again. Plans were being put in place, she'd met Law and Order: Organized Crime's showrunner, the ball was rolling. Now Christopher Meloni has confirmed the reunion will take place in season 5.
When viewers are brought back into Stabler's world, the feel of it may be a bit different. This is due to the show's upcoming transition from being a broadcast staple to a streaming original. Its renewal came with a caveat, it would no longer be a part of NBC's Thursday line-up but instead be added to Peacock's roster. As Hidden Remote previously reported, this may come with an age rating increase, more graphic storytelling and coarse language, though that has yet to be announced.

One of the best things about Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which has set it apart from the rest of the franchise and brought it so much recognition, is the care with which the writers handle sensitive cases. Because every story on the show involves some sort of sexual assault or harassment, everyone has to be extra careful about how they tell it.
The show's star, Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson, was so inspired by her role that she eventually became an activist and counselor for victims of sexual assault. But she wasn't the only cast member who couldn't stay away from the causes Svu brought to viewers' attention.
Stephanie March Activism
The actress, known for playing Svu's permanent Ada Alexandra Cabot, has always been a philanthropist, among other things. But Law & Order: Svu has been a nice push for March to consider other causes for fundraising and promotion.

Never mind critics of Hollywood “wokeness” — it’s good that TV creators are becoming more sensitive to societal issues and systemic oppression. Just go back and watch early episodes of the Law & Order franchise to see why. As you’ll read below, the first few seasons of Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit had episodes that would never make it past NBC’s standards and practices department now — or so we hope, anyway. And some of those early seasons’ bad habits persisted long into L&o and Svu’s runs. Here are some of the worst offenses…. 1. Depictions of police brutality The Law & Order universe is rife with police brutality, especially on Svu, where both Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Benson (Mariska Hargitay) — but mostly Stabler — have assaulted suspects. Even the NBC website notes that Stabler “[can] be a bit abusive toward suspects, never afraid to twist...

NCIS stars Michael Weatherly and Mark Harmon had a relationship not too unlike their characters Tony Dinozzo and Leroy Gibbs. Weatherly felt Harmon especially shared this common trait with his NCIS counterpart.

Over its many years of airing, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has welcomed notable guest stars ranging from Robin Williams to Sarah Paulson. However, one performance still stands out in fans’ minds above all: a young, pre-Modern Family Sarah Hyland.
The actress has actually appeared on the show twice, the first time in 2001 for the season three premiere, “Repression,” and then during season 10 in episode 12, “Hothouse.” It is a true testament to her talent that her latter appearance aired back in 2009 and is still being praised despite the series now going into its 26th season.
The episode is about the death of a teenage mathematics prodigy named Elsa whose body is found in the Hudson River. While the team originally thought the murder was tied to sex trafficking, it ended up being a case that actually exposed the toxic and deeply unsettling methods students use to achieve academic success at an academy.

Law & Order Svu star Chris Meloni explored new passions after leaving the long-running procedural. One of the more surprising dreams he wanted to achieve was learning how to fly.

Svu was very good to Meloni during his time on the hit television show. He recognized it gave him the kind of security he’d always longed for as a working actor. Especially when Meloni knew what it was like not having a guaranteed role in the earlier years of his career.
Leaving Svu was a tough decision, but one he thought was necessary.
“You work your whole career for what I got. You know, I hit the jackpot. I hit a show that meant something, was well-written, was well-received. You loved the working conditions and the people. It was a well-run machine.

Law & Order Svu faced some potentially dark days after Chris Meloni left the series. This would’ve required Mariska Hargitay to anchor the show as the lead, which a few weren’t sure would work.

Law & Order Svu has become one of the longest-running shows consistently on television. Its longevity even surpassed the original Law & Order, which currently has 23 seasons. This is partially because the original series was temporarily canceled in 2010 before being brought back in 2022. It was a feat that even left some of the show’s cast members rattled. Hargitay couldn’t help but be shocked at her show’s legs when she reflected on its enduring success.
“You have to take stock of these 21 years and the origins of it and how it happened and [Wolf’s] vision,” Hargitay once told USA Today.

The first-ever Gotham TV Awards offered a stark contrast between the Gotham Film & Media Institute’s annual celebration of cinema. While both awards shows were founded to toast independent productions — that is, before the Gotham Awards increased their budget cap eligibility requirements in 2023 — the Gotham TV Awards felt like a strangely intimate gathering that was mostly populated by showrunners, network executives, and the Gotham TV Awards jurors, with a few actors and press sprinkled in.
Sure, it could be that it’s the first year for the awards show and thus a smaller turnout and even venue. Or perhaps the Gotham TV Awards will remain a coveted industry event, one that feels like it’s only for insiders.
The intimacy was most prominent during the Anniversary Tribute for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” icon Mariska Hargitay. The award was presented by Hargitay’s former co-star Stephanie March, and...

Mariska Hargitay, in accepting her Anniversary Tribute honor at Tuesday’s inaugural Gotham TV Awards, focused on the unique mission of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
The star has appeared in 550 episodes over 25 seasons of the series (more than any other scripted TV actor), but she appeared to take nothing for granted onstage.
“The biggest thing for me to take in right now is that I get to work every day on a show that makes people feel less alone,” she said in a heartfelt speech at the gala held at New York’s Cipriani 25 Broadway. “That’s one of the most devastating effects on sexual assault and domestic violence is the isolation. Perpetrators depend on actual, literal isolation to commit their crimes and to leave victims with the trauma of deep, psychological isolation.”
