Alex Brunner is an agent in the Independent Film Group at leading talent and literary agency UTA, where he focuses on the global finance, packaging, and distribution strategies for independent and co-financed feature films. Titles he has been instrumental in the development and execution of a wide range of several acclaimed and commercial titles, including THE FATHER, HIDDEN FIGURES, HUSTLERS, THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF DAVID COPPERFIELD, MRS. HARRIS GOES TO PARIS, THE REPORT, THE COURIER, TO LESLIE, FIRST THEY KILLED MY FATHER, PEPPERMINT, and the FRAGGLE ROCK re-boot for Apple+. His upcoming titles include MUSK, NOVOCAINE, NUTCRACKERS and TENZING.
Prior to joining UTA in 2014, Brunner was one of the original co-founders of the independent film finance and sales company Exclusive Media, as well as its award-winning documentary feature branch, Spitfire Pictures. In the 13 years he spent building Spitfire Pictures and Exclusive Media, Brunner contributed heavily to the execution of several films including RUSH, END OF WATCH, THE IDES OF MARCH, the Academy Award winning UNDEFEATED, NO DIRECTION HOME: BOB DYLAN, THE WOMAN IN BLACK and BEGIN AGAIN. He personally produced LET ME IN, SNITCH, the Grammy Award winning FOO FIGHTERS: BACK AND FORTH, and DARK PLACES.
Prior to Exclusive Media, Brunner worked at Intermedia Films. At the time Intermedia was one of the world's leading independent producers and distributors of major motion pictures, responsible for hits such as The Wedding Planner, and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
Brunner started his Hollywood career at International Creative Management (ICM), working under agents in both the Motion Picture Literary and Production departments of the firm. Before ICM, Brunner worked for Hong Kong's largest movie studio, Golden Harvest Films, working on productions such as Jackie Chan's First Strike and Super Cop, as well as project managing the development of a new studio facility in Hong Kong.
Brunner was born in London, raised in Hong Kong and the U.K., and educated at Ampleforth College and Boston University.
