- Denys N. Coop was born on July 20, 1920 in Reading, Berkshire, England, UK. He was a cinematographer, known for Superman (1978), The Third Man (1949) and Superman II (1980). He died on August 16, 1981 in Hertfordshire, England, UK.
- BAFTA-winning British cameraman, former president of the British Society of Cinematographers (1973-75). Began in the business at the age of sixteen as an assistant to Freddie Young at Elstree studios. During World War II, he worked for the Army Kinematograph Service. Subsequently with Alexander Korda at Shepperton and freelance from 1956. Shared a Special Achievement Oscar in 1978.
