A Writer, Producer and Showrunner, Rember Burthey made his Executive Producer film debut with the nature documentary, "Doing The Reptile Rumba in the Rainforest of Madagascar" (2013), a documentary film introducing the world to African-American Herpetologist and Wildlife Educator, Erik Callender, following Erik's educational adventures from teaching elementary school kids in Long Island classrooms to the jungles of the Madagascar rainforest.
Rember's career began as a radio announcer during his college days at Hampton University, helming the afternoon drive-time slot at 88.3 WHOV-FM in Hampton, and summers helming the weeknight evenings and Sunday Jazz slots at 97-FM WQMG in Greensboro, NC. After college, he began writing film and television projects, including: "Ties That Bind" (1990 Co-Writer); "Deja Vu" (1990 Co-Writer); "Cleo Webb" (1991); "His Chosen Knights" (1992); "The Night The Mink Stole" (1993); and "Playing The Devil's Advocate" (1994).
As a SAG/AFTRA actor in television, working on shows like, "A Man Called Hawk" and "Homicide: Life on The Streets," with subsequent work on the feature film, "Contact" and pivoting to Production Assistant on notable films like "Forrest Gump" and "Random Hearts."
With Sidney Poitier as his original filmmaker role-model and inspiration in mind, Rember would ultimately return to focusing on working behind the camera in roles as a Writer, Showrunner, Producer and Consultant.
