Jessica Berndt is a music supervisor from Secretly Group, a media company which includes record labels Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar, Saddest Factory Records and Secretly Canadian, as well as publishing company Secretly Publishing. The record labels are home to acts such as Bon Iver, Mitski, Phoebe Bridgers, Moses Sumney, Toro y Moi, MUNA, Khruangbin, Angel Olsen, and Sharon Van Etten, to name a few.
Berndt began her work in television and film by assisting music supervisor Chris Swanson, handling music clearances on projects from directors Chapman & Maclain Way (Wild Wild Country), Hannah Fidell (The Long Dumb Road), Brett Haley (Hearts Beat Loud, All the Bright Places), Rick Alverson (The Mountain), Jeff Tremaine (The Dirt), and multiple projects from Joe Swanberg, including three seasons of Netflix's Easy series. In recent years, she began taking on the role of music supervisor for the films Along For the Ride, The Last Shift, I Used To Go Here, Ride the Eagle, and Mija, as well as the television series Dare Me (USA), A Teacher (FX), and the Netflix sports docuseries Untold.
