Steven Fredrick's interest in filmmaking began at an early age. During his high school and college years, he made many student films and gained experience in radio and television production. In 1979, Fredrick relocated to Santa Monica, California. From 1980 to 1988, he was employed as a videotape operator at various post-production houses in the Hollywood area. During the mid-1980s, Fredrick appeared as an extra in several television sitcoms and a few feature films. Fredrick is a fan of classic Hollywood movies, vintage radio programs, and the golden age of television. He considers The Jack Benny Program as the best structured comedy program in broadcasting history. Fredrick is a member of AFRTA.
