- American Neil Bowman is traveling through France when he meets British photographer Lila. They are hired by French land owner Duc de Croyter to escort a Hungarian scientist to New York. But they soon realize that the job is not a cushy number, and have to deal with a gang of kidnappers who will stop at nothing to get their hands on the scientist.

The film is interspersed with readings from well known literary sources as diverse as, amongst others, Baudelaire, Duras, Tolstoy, Lewis Carroll and de Sade's "120 days..."

Yet, their journey is no pleasure cruise, specially when it comes to crossing National Road 7. After a visit to Marcellin, an old friend of his, Antonin sets off again with Ulysse, this time towards the Rhône River.

Par des chemins détournés, Georges retourne vers celui qu'il fut autrefois: le footballeur professionnel Ahmed Najid. Pour Abdou, c'est un voyage initiatique vers la perte de l'innocence, l'apprentissage de la vie. Tous deux sont à la recherche de leur identité. L'un ne sait pas encore qui il est quand l'autre ne le sait plus!
