In today’s oversaturated TV landscape, there’s only so much time to catch up on everything, and it’s inevitable for some shows to be left behind. For some people, this could be the case with “BoJack Horseman,” the animated Netflix series created by Raphael Bob-Waksberg about a beloved sitcom horse from the ’90s (the gravelly-voiced Will Arnett) looking to reclaim the fame of his glory days in Hollywood.

Need to catch up? Check out the previous Nashville recap here.
Now that Nashville‘s Rayna Jaymes is buried under (too soon?), her friends and loved ones have to learn how to move on. But as the midseason premiere demonstrates, that’s far more easily said than done — or sung.
Daphne, in particular, finds herself adrift after her mother’s unexpected death, and Deacon has no clue how to help her. The widower is equally in over his head at Highway 65, where Zach is throwing around start-up buzzwords and suggesting the sacking of loyal, longtime staff members

Anyone else happy that Nashville is back? It was one depressing first half of the season, but we're back and there's only one way it can go. That doesn't mean it's going to be easy.
From the beginning of Nashville's "Back in the Saddle," we get to see the first strains on the relationships now that Rayna is gone and Maddie is focused on her new career. And it's not just our youngest superstar struggling. Gunnar and Scarlett just can't seem to catch a break!

A new chapter has begun on Nashville.
The country music drama returns for the second half of its fifth season on Thursday, picking up 10 weeks after the heartbreaking death of Rayna James (Connie Britton) -- and not everyone is handling the devastating loss well.
In Et's exclusive sneak peek from the episode, titled "Back in the Saddle Again," Rayna's youngest daughter, Daphne (Maisy Stella), is taking her mother's absence extremely hard. When Maddie (Lennon Stella) and Deacon (Charles Esten) surprise Daphne with one of Rayna's signature dishes ("silly noodle casserole") for dinner, it's the last straw.

"Lets just talk about it a little bit...," Deacon pleads with Daphne, after she declines dinner and rejects a visit from Scarlett (Clare Bowen) and Gunnar (Sam Palladio).
Daphne, who was never one to talk back, screams back in anger, causing Deacon and Maddie to react in pure shock: "Screw you!"

Though he’s been caught up in the whirlwind of Neil Marshall’s planned Hellboy reboot in recent days, David Harbour will soon be circling back to the quaint town of Hawkins, Indiana for Stranger Things season 2.
Pegged for a Halloween premiere on Netflix, word is that the show’s second season is more horror-oriented than the first, while composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein have been busy teasing an extended stint in the Upside Down – presumably to rescue Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven, Eggos and all. But for all of the Stranger Things coverage currently littering the Internet, there are precious few details out there regarding the actual story arc of season 2.

One of the most talked about shows on television, and easily the biggest series HBO has had on their schedule since “Game Of Thrones,” it was only a matter of time until the network renewed “Westworld” for season two. Ten years have passed along with much uncomfortable tabloid scrutiny since Mel Gibson's last film as director, Apocalypto. Back in the saddle with Hacksaw Ridge, he once again proves himself a muscular storyteller who knows exactly how to raise a pulse, heighten emotion and build intensity to explosive peaks. Themes of courage, patriotism, faith and unwavering adherence to personal beliefs have been a constant through Gibson's directing projects, as has a fascination with bloodshed and gore. Those qualities serve this powerful true story of heroism without violence extremely well, overcoming its occasional cliched battle-movie tropes to provide stirring drama.

Thirteen years after the filthy hijinks of Bad Santa, professional thieves Willie T. Soke (Billy Bob Thornton) and right-hand-man Marcus (Tony Cox) reunite in the film's long-awaited sequel. The first trailer finds that disgruntled duo talking business at a diner, as Marcus teases a new job with a potential windfall of "millions." Fittingly, Soke fires back with a racist one-liner.
Overall, the clip is light on plot and heavy on button-pushing quips — like Soke, dressed in his familiar Santa attire, spouting profanity at passerby ("Ho, ho, merry Christmas. Feed the starving children.

We look back at an often-overlooked part of the Ghostbusters legacy: it's Extreme Ghostbusters...
There was a time when no one cared about Ghostbusters. It was the late 90s - the pre-Pokemon, post-Mighty Morphin Power Rangers days to be exact. Nobody’s kid was exactly clamouring for a sequel, reboot, or a Ghostbusters continuation of any kind - except for Dan Aykroyd, who was practically lobbying for a third instalment while sitting front row at the Ghostbusters II premiere. Which is why we have this: an awkwardly timed, tonally disruptive Ghostbusters animated series.
Enter a brand new cartoon that picked up the sticky, ectoplasm-covered mantle of The Real Ghostbusters and wore it slightly askew to evoke that wholesome sense of 1990s irreverence: Extreme Ghostbusters.
Living up to its name, Xgb was extreme indeed. One glance at its radically inclusive team line-up is all you need to notice that.

Back in the saddle for another round of action, Matt Damon
is gearing up for the release of his much-anticipated film “Jason Bourne.”
Earlier today, Universal Pictures unveiled a television commercial and a poster featuring the “Good Will Hunting” hunk and his costar Alicia Vikander.
“Jason Bourne” is slated to hit theaters on July 29th. Damon told press, “You’ll find the character — like ‘The Bourne Ultimatum,’ the third act actually in the movie dovetails with the third act of ‘The Bourne Supremacy.’ So technically when the Bourne character disappears, it’s still 2004. So when this next one comes out in ’16, it will have been 12 years — in movie years — that the character as been off the grid. So what’s happened in those intervening years gives you a story.”

Han Solo, Rick Deckard and Indiana Jones – three iconic characters all played by Harrison Ford, and it’s three roles he has and will return to over the next few years. Late last year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens welcomed back Ford’s roguish smuggler, while Warner’s long-gestating Blade Runner 2 has set sights on an early 2018 release.
Last but certainly not least we have Indy, the fast-talking archaeologist that will, despite many rumors to the contrary, return to the silver screen in 2019 for Indiana Jones 5. It’s a role that Ford himself is excited for, and he recently touched base on the sequel’s announcement while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
More News From The Web
Remaining as wry and guarded as ever, Ford stated simply that “it’s fun, it’s great fun to play this character. It’s great fun to work with Steven, I’m looking forward to it.

When I recently reviewed LittleBigPlanet 3, I said that despite having a fun and creative campaign and plenty of enticing new features for level creation, a number of noticeable glitches brought the overall package down a bit. It now seems that Sony and developer Sumo Digital are taking the first step toward addressing some of these, as Update 1.03 has gone live on PlayStation Network for both the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game.
Clocking in at 102.5 Mb for PS3 and 365.5 Mb for PS4, the update will address several occasions that have the potential to induce lag or freezes. The ability to import collectibles from LittleBigPlanet 2 has also been updated to include more items, though it was noted that some will still be missing for the time being.

According to Deadline, Inglourious Basterds star Daniel Bruhl has signed on to play the villain in Captain America: Civil War, joining returning franchise stars Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. for the third Cap instalment. Back in the saddle are The Winter Soldier helmers, Joe and Anthony Russo, who will direct the ever-expanding cast.
Set to kick off Marvel’s phase three slate, the story for Civil War is still officially under wraps. From what we understand, it’ll be based around the infamous Civil War plot lines that have become favourites amongst fans of the original comics. This may hint somewhat towards Bruhl’s role as the film’s chief antagonist. Heaven's Gate is one of the most notorious cinematic bombs of all time. A 1980 Western about an armed conflict in Wyoming between rich cattlemen and poor farmers, made for a then-astronomical $44 million, it not only destroyed the career of director Michael Cimino (a rising star on the strength of The Deer Hunter) — this marathon-length epic basically put studio United Artists out of business and ended the auteur-driven '70s golden age of Hollywood. Now director Steven Soderbergh has decided to fix it.

So what, exactly, did each producer do for the movie? In a NextMovie exclusive, we've obtained a verified* list of the various roles each producer filled during the production of the film. Needless to say, each was wholly necessary to the quality of the end result.
*Note: By "verified" we mean "not verified."
Horatio Bacon: Responsible for convincing director Lee Daniels to not film the movie in 3D.
Julia Barry: Responsible with supplying the production office with the proper Nerf guns for anticipated downtime.
Len Blavatnik: Responsible for assaulting any "nerd" who insists on putting another "s" after the apostrophe in the film's title.

We here at NextMovie aren't just about the big-budget blockbusters. We're shallow, but we're not that shallow. (Fine, we're pretty shallow.)
April 17 begins the Tribeca Film Festival, where "little films that could" that really aren't that little and often star big-name actors are submitted to be judged by Hollywood's finest discerning eyes and also those of Eva Longoria.

Britain's Princess Anne warned Jennifer Saunders she could 'die' while horseriding. The 54-year-old actress was terrified about her new show 'Back In The Saddle' - which sees Jennifer revisit her old riding skills to take part in the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials - so sought tips from the former eventing competitor ahead but admits speaking to the princess left her more nervous than ever. She says on the show: 'I'm terrified. I'm absolutely terrified. I really don't want to fall off, that's my biggest thing. 'You get to a point in your life where you can imagine how much that's going to hurt and how many bones will snap - they're probably all made of powder now.' Anne then makes...

As our Comic-Con coverage wraps up and our intrepid reporters/fangirls Kate Spencer and Sabrina Rojas Weiss take a much-deserved nap, we’d like to take a minute to recap our very favorite interviews and press conferences via easily-consumable and definitely-hypotizing GIFs. From Aaron Paul‘s teeth, to Kristen Stewart digging a hole for herself, to our one and only Khaleesi, the star-filled convention was chock full of hilarious and heartthrobbing moments.
11. Rob Zombie & Kristen Stewart: BFFs (Well, Kind Of)
Leave it to Professional KStew Fangirl Kate to get Rob Zombie to chat about his pal Kristen Stewart.
10. Vampire Diaries Alum Matt Davis Charmed, Chatted About Cult
Davis waxed nostalgic on his Vampire Diaries “family” but said he’s excited for his less expendable lead role in the CW’s new drama, Cult.
9. Lady Stark Talked Lady Power
Game of Thrones actress Michelle Fairley praised the show’s not-so-delicate women.

They've tried everything. One host. Two hosts. Four hosts. 32 hosts. Comic hosts. Serious-thespian hosts. Hollywood-legend hosts. Young hosts. Old hosts. Hip hosts. Square hosts. Singing-and-dancing hosts. Every year, it seems, the Academy Awards goes back to the drawing board to figure out what sort of emcee will keep the show lively, attract viewers (especially younger viewers) and keep them from flipping channels during the slow parts. It's a thankless gig; no wonder Billy Crystal, who's done it eight times, decided to sit out for eight years before agreeing to return to host this year's Academy Awards on Sunday night. The job requires a difficult and rare set of skills: a host must entertain both the Hollywood big-shots in the auditorium and regular folks at home. They can poke fun at the huge egos in the room, but can't deflate them with too much snark, and they can't be too inside-baseball.

Glenn has a problem. Arriving home early on his anniversary hoping to surprise his girlfriend with flowers he does exactly that. The problem is he also surprises the naked man whose nipples she has just covered with whipped cream. So now Glenn is sad.Luckily Glenn has a trio of very good friends. Good film-loving friends who offer Glenn a couch to sleep on and a plan to get him back on his feet. Back in the saddle, as it were. They shall organize an audition for a film that does not exist and they shall invite only women, women who will be told Glenn is a movie director to push them down the path to admiration and love. The problem, of course, comes when...

A little over a week ago, the United States of America was on the verge of defaulting for the first time in its history. The chaos isn’t over – witness the roller coaster ride of the stock market over the last seven days – but that week the pundits on radio, on Fox and MSNBC and CNN, and on The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert, conservatives, liberals, progressives, Tea Baggers (excuse me, I mean Tea Partiers) – everywhere you had ears and eyes in working order, people were bloviating (to borrow a word from Bill O’Reilly) about the #1 question on everyone’s minds….
What If The United States Of America Defaults?
Mike Gold and I spent hours on the phone talking about the possibility – well, to be truthful, I was the one ranting about the goddamn Repugnanticans (my own coined word for what passes as the party of Lincoln these days...

…Or How The Fuck Did That Happen, Part Two
Where was I last week?
I was in the midst of a great crusade against the most terrifying villain ever unleashed upon the universe. A tyrant created by an evil greater than Mephisto – or Emperor Palpatine or Darkseid, choose your poison – whose sole purpose is to destroy humanity. A crafty, insidious, and totally nasty piece of work, capable of twisting even the greatest brains ever known – Einstein, Newton, Hawkings, Reed Richards – into Roquefort cheese, of destroying Rem sleep, of chaining even the raging Incredible Hulk to a chair for weeks.
Oh, yes, it was a battle for the ages. He tried driving me mad with visions of z-scores and ANOVAs and Pearson Correlations and Chi-Square Tests for Goodness. Of blinding me with rs = 1 – 6∑D2/n(n2-1) and Ssa = ∑T2ROW/nROW – G2/N and t = (M1 – M2) – (µ1 – µ2)/s...

I wrote last time about digital comics and I realize there was another big question for me as we cross the digital Rubicon into this brave new world: will there be letter columns?
Now you might point out to me, “John, most comics don’t have letter columns now.” I’ve always felt that was a mistake. In fact, I think it’s one of the reasons for the decline of comics, if not of the entire Western Civilization as we know it. My first work in comics appeared in a letter column. During the Overlord saga in Thor, I pretty much figured out who the mysterious Overlord really was. (I think it was Odin or some manifestation of Odin or something.) I even was awarded a Mighty Marvel No-Prize for my efforts, which was supposed to be for service above and beyond the call of duty to Marvel before...

In this very space a few days ago, John Ostrander said, “By this time next year, we may know if we’re still viable or making buggy whips.” He was referring to comics creators, to comics fans, and to the entire comics art medium.
The first person I heard refer to comics with this term was master cartoonist Stan Lynde. In case you’re challenged in matters relating to newspaper comic strips, Stan was the creator and writer/artist of the strips Rick O’Shay and Latigo. He’s a master storyteller, a brilliant humorist and an artist of fantastic prowess. The time was close to 20 years ago, and Mike Grell and I were at a very enjoyable comic book convention at Billings Montana. One of the promoters promised to introduce me to Stan. This was a real fanboy moment for me.

There’s a scene in Sleepless In Seattle where Tom Hanks, whose libido has been dead in the water since his wife died, comes home from work to discover his young son hanging out with a friend in his room – and that’s a literal hanging out, as the two of them are cozy cuddling on one of those mod hanging chairs built for one. Oh, did I forget to mention that the son’s friend is grrrl? One of those 9-going-on-24 types who seem to have waaaay too much information ‘bout the birds and the bees and who looks on grown-ups as burnt-out Muggies without a clue about the magic in the world and who you just have to tolerate because, well, that’s just the way life is.
“H-a-g,” the girl says to Tom. And, proving her point, he says, “Huh?”
“Hi and good-bye,” she sighs with a sad shake of her head.

2009 saw the release of Infamous, a Playstation 3 exclusive title, and with it came early access to Uncharted 2’s newly conceived multiplayer experience – and what an experience it was. Fast forward to June 2011 and the release of Infamous 2 and early access to Uncharted 3′s latest multiplayer experience.
Uncharted 2’s first foray into the multiplayer sphere gave us a strong emphasis on competitive and co-operative action. What it had over the competition was the skilful combination of lateral and vertical movement and action. This added an extra layer of skill, strategy and tactics to proceedings. The action wasn’t confined to what you saw in front of you or that came from behind you, but what was all around you. With the release of this latest beta Naughty Dog plans to up the ante, the action and more importantly the fun. Previously access was confined to early infamous 2 owners and Playstation plus...

15 November 1934: Number 7 in our series of the 50 key events in the history of world and folk music
He might first have made his living as a telegraph operator for the St Louis-San Francisco Railway, but Gene Autry ended his life as a multimillionaire after becoming the first of Hollywood's famous "singing cowboys". In 1934, he made his silver-screen debut in a B-western called In Old Santa Fe, the first of his 93 films. He also became famous for radio, television and live theatre and rodeo performances. His radio career spanned 16 years between 1940 and 1956, heard every Sunday evening across the Us on CBS. As if that wasn't enough, his Gene Autry show aired for 91 episodes on television.
In the course of his career he released 635 recordings. His first hit was That Silver-Haired Daddy of Mine, winning the first ever gold record, but his trademark tunes were Back in the Saddle Again,...

Back in the saddle: Larry 'Jr' Hagman reunites with Dallas wife Linda Gray as he auctions off his belongings
Hagman was reunited with his former co-star Linda Gray - who played his on-screen wife Sue-Ellen - as they rode on horseback through Beverly Hills a few days ago.
The party was held in honor of Hagman and to celebrate the upcoming sale on hundreds of items from his life.
Among the items on offer include his cowboy boots, a director's chair with his name on or many of his Stetsons.
How Football Players Got Trounced by Glee
If Friday Night Lights is as American as apple pie, then Glee is more like Ben & Jerry’s deep-fried caramel-apple whipped-cream-swirl ice cream (which doesn’t exist, but really should): a dense, flavorful, genre-bending extravaganza of one-upmanship, raging hormones, teary confessions and lip-glossed warbling.

A month and a half ago, I made a list of a few things I would like to see in the 2nd half of the 6th season of Supernatural. So now that we took a break from the second half, I wanna go back to it and see what we can check. And also, theorize what's to come in the final episodes of the season. So, let's go back to that list:
1) Rock N' Roll- Check. The only song so far was Aerosmith's Back in the Saddle at the return-from-hiatus-ep recap, but it was so awesome and needed that it covers for lack of other songs so far. That's how you come back from a hiatus.
In The Future- Hope we come back from this hiatus with a cool song too. And a few more won't hurt.
2) Emotional Talks- Double check. Sam getting his soul back led to some "How-are-you-feeling" talks,...

Hollywoodnews.com: Two of the best film scores I heard this year were Clint Mansell’s “Black Swan” and Carter Burwell’s “True Grit.” The former is gothic and terrifying (in the best ways), while the latter is warm, weathered and inspiring (in the best ways).
Too bad neither of them will be able to compete for an Oscar.
Variety reports today that the scores for “Black Swan,” “True Grit,” “The Kids Are All Right” and “The Fighter” will be disqualified for consideration at the upcoming Academy Awards.
“Swan” and “Grit” reportedly are out because they are “diluted by the use of tracked themes or other pre-existing music” such as Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” or a handful of 19th century hymns.
As for “Fighter” and “Kids,” they rely too heavily on full songs like Aerosmith’s “Back in the Saddle.” Terrible.
That’s a sad loss for score aficionados,...
