At the New York opening night, the theater name on the marquee is Alcott Theatre, but the program cover has Stratton Theatre.
During the dance audition scene, Paul Byrd demonstrates the steps and then walks over to Lester Marton. The camera cuts briefly to a seated Jeffrey Cordova, who is watching the audition and shows Paul standing behind him. In the next shot though, Paul is still standing next to Lester.
In the second scene, in which a Caucasian man is pointing to a picture of Tony Hunter in a magazine, the hand he points with is not his, as it is dark-skinned.
After the Oedipus number, Cordova buttons his jacket crookedly. In the next scene, it is correctly buttoned.
When Tony sits down next to Lester, the same bus and car speed past again.
As Tony Hunter walks down the train platform and into Grand Central Terminal in the song "By Myself", there is no engine at the front of the train.
As Tony leaves the train, he walks on a red carpet past a Santa Fe coach car into Grand Central Depot. The New York Central used the red carpet only for the 20th Century Limited, which did carry some Santa Fe cars for through passengers. Both trains carried exclusively Pullman (sleeping car) passengers, and coaches were not carried on either train at this time.
A shot through the train carriage window shows a bus with a white roof followed by a car, and they're going faster than the train.
Tony is wearing a gray suit at the beginning and doing 'shine shoes', but when coming backstage, he's in a different suit.
Tony's cuffs are not correct in his dressing room, but when he comes out of the room, they are correct on the arms.
In the outtake musical number "Two-Faced Woman", Cyd has a blue scarf, but in the background, she has a purple scarf.
During the Oedipus number, there are only two Timpani being played by the "musician", but three Timpani pitches can be heard.
About halfway through "Louisiana Hayride", a crew member can be seen (for 2-3 seconds) creeping off to the left of screen.
When Tony Hunter sings "A Shine On My Shoes", the upside-down reflection of the cameraman and some crew members can be seen in the funny mirror.
When Tony Hunter sings the song "A Shine On Your Shoes", the shadow of the camera/cameraman is visible on the "electricity machine".
By the time the show reaches Broadway, Lester Marton is featured with the other stars on the theater marquee, but does not seem to participate in any of the onstage numbers.
When Tony is talking to Hal around the 1'43'47 mark, a boom mic shadow can be briefly glimpsed at the top of the door just after his "Say, look..." line.
Theater people never wish each other "Good Luck" (as Gaby and Tony do in the alley before opening night). They're superstitious that this will bring bad luck instead. That's why they always say "Break a leg".
Gabrielle's last name is spelled "Gerard" in some scenes, "Girard" in others.
During the "I Love Louisa" number (at around 1h 16 mins), as Lester is accompanying Tony on the piano, he plays a two-handed chord on the piano, but he also raises one hand in gesture at the same time.
