When Gannon is in Dr. Pine's kitchen getting a drink, a cabinet is opened with the open door located right behind Gannon's head. When the scene cuts to a shot showing the kitchen from the living room, the open cabinet door is nowhere in sight.
In the news article on a shooting which Gannon writes in class (and Stone reads aloud), Gannon fails to attribute any "facts" in the article and labels Solas as "shooter" (not the alleged shooter). These are lapses in fundamental rules of journalism made by an experienced major newspaper editor and not corrected by a journalism school instructor. Stone calls it one of the best articles ever submitted in her classes, when she should have demanded a rewrite or given it a failing grade.
In the scene where Pine corrects Gannon about the year of Bill Wambsganss' unassisted triple play in the World Series (1920), he says that was the first year the Series was a best-of-9 format. Actually, the infamous 1919 Series (Cincinnati over White Sox) was best-of-9, as was the first Series of modern times in 1903.
Gannon is obviously close to retirement age, so why does Erica treat him like a young journalistic prodigy?
