If you were part of the clean-up crew taking care of a murder scene, and you found a suitcase full of cash, what would you do? If you have an Iq that’s at least in the double digits or have seen more than a couple of action films, you probably know taking it won’t end well.
But that doesn’t stop Siobhan, the owner of Good Life Cleaners and her crew, Alex, his girlfriend Megan and Chuck from doing just that when they find a few million in cash stashed in the chimney of the house they’re cleaning up.
That money belongs to Gabriel and was meant to pay off some crooked cops until somebody else’s attempt to steal it resulted in a pile...

The Supreme Court decision Miranda v. Arizona came down in 1966, and served as a crackdown on sloppy or abusive police interrogations. Miranda noted that suspects, when being arrested, had certain rights afforded them, including the right to remain silent while in custody, and the right to have a state-appointed attorney to defend them. Thanks to its use in an endless stream of cop shows and "Law & Order" reruns, most Americans can recite the Miranda warning by heart. We all now know that, upon arrest, we have the right to remain silent.
Not everyone was pleased about the Miranda decision, however, and many conservative pundits at the time felt that it only hamstrung police officers. There was a fear that truly evil criminals would exploit the system to their benefit, keeping silent and protected, while street cops -- knowing them to be guilty -- would be helpless to, say, beat a confession out of them.

The mid-nineties were a period of transition for Jet Li. Having made his name in period martial arts pieces during the aftermath of the new wave, the saturation point had been reached and stepping into the modern action movie was inevitable. Initial forays had been limited in their success (Dragon Fight & The Master) and it wasn't until the shameless “The Bodyguard” rip-off “Bodyguard from Beijing” in 1994 that he began to get accepted in this genre. “The Enforcer” to give “My Father is a Hero” its generic western release title was a reunion of star and director, only this time with added familial drama with a script co-written by Wong Jing. As Eureka Entertainment releases its “Heroes and Villain's” box set, it's time to revisit this transitional period of the star and see how it holds up today.

Cobweb begins a week before Halloween when Peter is woken up by the sound of knocking seemingly coming from inside his bedroom wall. You can’t blame him for being creeped out, with its peeling paint and backyard full of rotting pumpkins the house already looks like something out of a horror movie. And then there’s that weird bulging thing the walls in his room do while he’s sleeping.
We also quickly learn that he has no friends and gets bullied at school. His parents Carol and Mark also won’t let him dress up for Halloween, something that may be related to the disappearance of a young girl a few years ago. Unsurprisingly they also don’t believe him about the knocking.

The new film The Enforcer presents a thrilling 90 minutes as mob enforcer Cuda betrays the criminal organization he’s spent his life trying to build to help a young girl out of his boss’s sex trafficking ring.
Alexis Ren recently sat down with uInterview founder Erik Meers to discuss working on the movie and co-starring alongside Antonio Banderas and Kate Bosworth.
“I was just like, ‘Pinch me!’ all day,” Ren said. “Antonio is wonderful and watching him and my other cast mate, Mojean [Aria], who’s my love interest in the film … watching them rehearse was like watching a master class. Alexis Ren wowed in a tight black dress.
The model always looks incredible at events and red carpets, and this time was no exception.
She left everyone with their jaws on the floor by sharing a picture of herself in an incredibly sexy dress.
Ren wore a tight black minidress that hugged her curves perfectly, showing off her athlethic and slim figure.
The dress was cut in a diagonal from her chest to her legs. A fine string tied the fabric together,, allowing the model to show some skin.
The top had a built-in bra, and the fabric made a little twist right below her neck, joining the two long sleeves together.

“Tough guy with heart of gold” is the cliché that provides the gist to “The Enforcer,” and nothing much turns up to refresh or complicate that hoary hook. This criminal-underworld thriller benefits from Antonio Banderas’ star charisma as a veteran mob strong-arm who turns against his own organization in order to rescue an imperiled teen. Richard Hughes’ feature directorial debut also elevates matters somewhat with a slick and stylish presentation. But the results remain too hogtied by original “Point Break” scribe W. Peter Iliff’s routine, elemental screenplay to rise above the level of disposable genre fodder.
Cuda (Banderas) is just out of prison, having dutifully taken the heat for deeds done in service to Miami syndicate boss Estelle (Kate Bosworth). He hopes to restore relations with his 15-year-old daughter, but she’s wary after his long absence, his ex-wife outright hostile. Perhaps as a regretful result, he takes a...

"Those are some dangerous people." Screen Media Films has revealed an official trailer for a crime thriller from a first time filmmaker called The Enforcer, which is indeed about a mob enforcer. Truly an original name for this one. Miami's top mob enforcer Cuda, played by Antonio Banderas, sacrifices it all to tear down the criminal organization he's spent his whole life building up. He will give up everything to save a young girl he has befriended from his femme fatale boss who is involved in cybersex trafficking. It's his last chance to do something and make a difference before the mob comes after him. This definitely sounds like some derivative direct-to-vod junk, but somehow they got Banderas to star. The cast also includes Kate Bosworth, Mojean Aria, Zolee Griggs, and Alexis Ren, with 2 Chainz. This seems like yet another generic crime action film about rescuing young women. Same old story over and over.

Clint Eastwood’s “Dirty Harry” series of films are some of the most iconic American action movies ever made. Spanning two decades and five films, the “Dirty Harry” franchise looks at America’s changing attitude toward law enforcement and justice.
The first film, “Dirty Harry,” was released in 1971 and was an instant classic, spawning four sequels over the next two decades. While each film is excellent in its own right, there is a clear progression in how America is depicted, from a place of hope and optimism in the first film to a much more cynical and jaded outlook by the fifth film.
The story of all the movies revolves around a San Francisco Police Department inspector, “Dirty” Harry Callahan, played by Clint Eastwood. If you are a fan of action-packed cinema, you should watch “Dirty Harry” movies.

A new year has finally arrived and HBO Max is set to open it with a bang. With its list of new releases for January 2022, HBO Max is rolling out some intriguing original series and an absolutely packed slate of library titles.
The real highlight this month comes on Jan. 13 with the release of Peacemaker. Developed by James Gunn, this series spins off John Cena’s titular character from last years’ The Suicide Squad. The show will delve into the pathology of a superhero who will achieve peace regardless of how many people need to be killed to attain it.
Also of note this month are second seasons for two major HBO series. Euphoria season 2 and The Righteous Gemstones season 2 both premiere on Jan. 9, making for quite the odd double feature. Meanwhile, the fifth and final season of superb comedy Search Party arrives on Jan. 7.
January 2022 is light as far as original movies go.

Clint Eastwood, 91, opens “Cry Macho” tomorrow in theaters and HBO Max. It’s his 42nd film as a director, and perhaps his last. Reviewing his career reveals a dual nature about his role in film history that is surprising, but also explains his success.
Eastwood has been both one of the most successful and acclaimed directors and actors over the last half century. His commercial peak came in the 1980s, while his biggest acclaim as a director spanned 1992 (“Unforgiven”) through 2006 (“Letters from Iwo Jima”).
He signed his first contract with Universal in 1954, became a TV star with “Rawhide” in 1959, and landed the role that defined his persona in 1964 with Sergio Leone’s “A Fistful of Dollars.”
With 50 years behind the camera, he doesn’t have the longest-running career as a director; Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese started earlier and Agnes Varda’s filmmaking spanned 65 years. But Eastwood’s 51 years of...

While filming in Greece may conjure up images of beautiful sandy beaches and Cycladic landscapes with sparkling white buildings with blue domes, international producers are finding that there is so much more the territory has to offer. It combines sea, mountains, vast stretches of lands and archaeological sites. From medieval old towns to snow-capped Mount Olympus to volcanoes on Nisyros, Methana and Santorini, locations are varied and vast. The quality of light in the country is also a big attraction for film and television crews, with nearly 250 days a year of bright sunshine making it possible for crews to take advantage of long, light days.

AMC, the exhibition giant laid low by the pandemic only to re-emerge as a must-have meme stock, is believed to be close to a deal to run two Pacific Theatres locations in prominent Los Angeles malls.
According to reports, AMC is looking to take over the multiplex at The Grove in Fairfax District and the Americana at Brand in Glendale. Both venues were spotted on the AMC website and app before they were promptly removed.
In April Pacific Theatres owner Decurion Corp. said it would not be reopening its 17 sites comprising 11 ArcLight and six Pacific Theatres venues mostly on the West Coast and southern California.

Buddy Van Horn, Director of Clint Eastwood’s ‘Any Which Way You Can’ and ‘The Dead Pool,’ Dies at 92
Wayne “Buddy” Van Horn, Clint Eastwood’s longtime stunt double and sometimes director, died on May 11, according to an obituary from the Los Angeles Times on Sunday. He was 92.
Van Horn served as stunt coordinator on Eastwood’s films from 1972 to 2011, including “The Enforcer,” “The Gauntlet” and “Sudden Impact.” He also served as second unit director on Eastwood’s “Magnum Force” before taking on full directing duties on 1980’s “Any Which Way You Can,” 1988’s “The Dead Pool,” the fifth and final appearance of Eastwood’s iconic character, “Dirty” Harry Callahan, and then 1989’s “Pink Cadillac.”
A skilled horseman from a young age, Van Horn loved to tell stories of riding his pony for miles in the valleys and canyons surrounding North Hollywood as a kid. His rugged skillset earned him a gig riding horses as an extra in westerns. However, on the set of his second film, Van Horn...

There are only two months left to go in this truly hellish year and relatively new streaming service HBO Max is trying to make the best of them. While most other streamers recover from Halloween and get prepared for Christmas, HBO Max is using November 2020 to fill out its servers.
Things are pretty light not the new original series front this month with only Industry (Nov. 9) and His Dark Materials season 2 (Nov. 16) making a splash. But the streamer has a couple of notable original films to complement them. Between the World and Me, based on the book by Ta-Nehisi Coates, arrives on Nov. 21 and Melissa McCarthy comedy Superintelligence arrives on Nov. 26. That’s not even to mention two intriguing projects that don’t have dates yet: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion Special and The Mystery of Db Cooper.

Every so often I come across a movie from years ago that I simply overlooked or didn’t have the opportunity to see. After viewing the Kino-Lorber Blu-ray release of Caravans, I have to say I’m rather sorry I missed this one.
Caravans, directed by James Fargo, had a brief release from Universal in 1978, after which it disappeared with only an ABC-TV airing and sporadic appearances on cable to mark its existence. The trailer promises that Caravans is the greatest desert adventure since Lawrence of Arabia, which clearly it is not. However, there is much to enjoy with this new video release.
The year is 1948 and American diplomat Mark Miller (Michael Sarrazin) is sent to the fictional Middle Eastern country of Zakharstan to search for Ellen Jasper(Jennifer O’ Neill), the daughter of a U.S. senator. Ellen has left her husband, Colonel Nazrullah (Behrouz...

HBO Max is set to enter into its second month of existence. And you know what that means: it’s Christmas in July!
HBO Max’s list of new releases for July 2020 is highlighted by one prominent Christmas movie: last year’s Emilia Clarke-starring Last Christmas. But the real cause for Christmas in July is all the exciting animated DC content coming our way on the first of the month. July 1 sees the arrival of just about every animated Batman project ever created. July 1 also features the arrival of just about every Justice League animated series ever created as well.
If that weren’t enough, July 1 is also when every live-action Superman movie (save for Man of Steel) makes it streaming debut. July is starting to look like a month where HBO Max establishes its real potential and geek culture bonafides…despite an at-times difficult rollout.

When HBO Max launched last month, DC fans hoped it would be the premiere place to go to watch all their favorite DC content. While the streaming service did have an impressive array of films and TV shows available on launch, there were a lot of notable missing titles, too, due to pre-existing licenses getting in the way. As time goes on, though, more DC properties will end up on the site. Case in point: this July will see a whole heap of superhero content go up on HBO Max.

Lennie Niehaus, who went from Stan Kenton sideman to Clint Eastwood’s movie composer during a nearly 60-year career in music, died Thursday at his daughter’s home in Redlands, Calif. He was 90.
Niehaus’s two dozen films for Eastwood include original scores for the best picture-winning Western “Unforgiven,” the Charlie Parker biopic “Bird” and the popular romantic drama “The Bridges of Madison County.”
The two met in 1953 at California’s Fort Ord, when the two were in the Army during the Korean Conflict. “I used to play jazz jobs at one of the beer clubs on the base, and Clint was tending bar,” Niehaus wrote in an essay about the actor-director for his 1996 American Film Institute Life Achievement Award. “I used to go off post and play in a little jazz club in nearby Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoons, and he would be there.”

Homicide cop Glenn Ford visits destruction on every woman he meets while avenging the murder of his wife. Is this Samuel Fuller’s biggest production? He tries to convey the harrowing reality of a military campaign that tested the limits of endurance and punishment that troops could absorb. In his last movie, Jeff Chandler is the famed commander who must ask his special forces to march hundreds of miles in the unforgiving jungle, and then fight a pitched battle. Although Warners interfered with the final cut, it’s still a fine picture.

In Escape The Night, premiering July 11, YouTube creators take on different personas from a bygone era, and then compete in various challenges in order to remain the last one standing as various supernatural threats loom. The show often features quirky and comedic creators, given that it calls for a great deal of improvisation.

For Barbara Bush, family always came first. "She didn’t come off as a first lady but as a loving, caring mother," friend Brad Meltzer exclusively tells Closer. "She told me to read to my children at night — it wasn’t about the book, but holding the kids on your lap and loving them. She was a truly incredible mother and grandmother." When Barbara died at age 92 on April 17, she left a unique legacy: She was the better half of the longest presidential marriage in history, having been wed to George H.W. Bush for 73 years, and she was also the mother of President George W. Bush. Thanks to Barbara’s steely spine, wry one-liners and plainspoken style, Americans cherished her as much as her family did. "I always knew Barbara was the most beloved woman in the world, and in fact I used to tease her that I had a complex about that fact.
