This week The Inside Man looks at the 1987 murder of Susan Heyliger, in a case that remained cold for decades. It was June 1987 and 42-year-old mother of five Susan Heyliger was working as a bar tender at the Country Club Lounge, East Bay Drive in Largo, Florida. That night she closed up the bar and locked herself in so that she could perform a stock check and close up the cash register. However, little did she know that Jeffrey Lobik was hiding in the ceiling looking to rob the bar. He let himself down and then hit Heyliger several...read more...

The FitzSimmons romance was centre stage in this week’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., and John Hannah made an appearance...
This review contains spoilers.
3.18 The Singularity
Ever since its pilot episode, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has teased the possibility of Fitz and Simmons getting together. The pair has gone through brain damage and separation since then, and now the showrunners are finally giving them a shot at togetherness. This week we saw them pretty much go on a date, albeit one where they’re actually on the job the entire time.
This whole plot strand was handled very well, from the cute ‘broken comms’ scene to the big moment at the end of the episode. Romance isn’t something that comic book TV shows always do well, but after three years of build up this felt like a satisfying payoff. Fitz’s event horizon comparison was a particularly strong concept delivered well.

The Secret Warriors have their own little Civil War in this week’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., which ended with a hefty twist...

3.17 The Team
Ever since Skye’s real name was revealed to be Daisy Johnson, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans have been expecting her to bring the Secret Warriors super-team together as per the comics. The end of last season teased this in a particularly big way. And, after plenty of teases and allusions, the Secret Warriors are now a real, actual thing...
If it weren’t for Daisy breaking bad at the end of the episode, The Team would probably be remembered as ‘the one where the Secret Warriors finally went on a mission’. So let’s start with that: seeing this gang get together and use their powers to take down a Hydra base was a thrilling way to kick things off,...

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. delivers one of its best episodes to date with season 3’s Spacetime, full of snazzy powers and big confrontations..
This review contains spoilers
3.15 Spacetime
When I saw the premise for this episode – essentially 'Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. does Minority Report' – I was a bit sceptical. Could 45 minutes do justice to a sci-fi concept as massive as precognition? I was worried that the idea may come across as cheesy, like it did in Men In Black 3. Or, worse still, that it would throw up the type of timey-wimey plot holes that always incur internet backlash.
But, I’m glad to report that my doubts were unnecessary. Spacetime – thanks to a ballsy script by the showrunners, and confident direction from the oft-impressive Kevin Tancharoen - felt like one of the most imaginative and well-engineered Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. instalments to date.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. gets topical and political in this week’s season 3 episode, Watchdogs, which has some really strong moments…
This review contains spoilers
3.14 Watchdogs
Last week, Skye – sorry, Daisy – mentioned a group of anti-Inhuman radicals who’ve been trolling the internet with their disdain. Now, Watchdogs has explained what that was all about, serving up an episode with some very topical political overtones. This was probably Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most socially reflective episode to date, and I’d say that it made for a solid hour of entertainment as well an effective political allegory.
Given that our own world is such a diverse plane of opinions on all things immigration-based and international borders-related, it makes total sense that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would have its own version of that. In the McU, there’s the added topic of ‘aliens’ (well, humans with alien DNA, for...

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to be teeing up its potential spin-off, Marvel’s Most Wanted, this week, with a really strong episode…
This review contains spoilers
3.13 Parting Shot
Given that Arrow has already sparked off into The Flash, Legends Of Tomorrow, Vixen and – sort of – Supergirl over on the DC side of the fence, it’s no surprise that the folks behind Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. are also looking for further spin-off options. Last season there were ties to Agent Carter season 1, and this time around seeds are being sewn for Marvel’s Most Wanted, a potential spin-off for Adrianne Palicki’s Bobbi ‘Mockingbird’ Morse and Nick Blood’s Lance Hunter.
The term ‘backdoor pilot’ doesn’t always sound like a huge amount of fun, but the necessity of nudging Bobbi and Hunter away from the main team actually made for a really fun episode here.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 episode The Inside Man had the ring of filler about it but a few strong moments nonetheless…
This review contains spoilers
3.12: The Inside Man
If a TV episode starts and ends with pretty much all of his characters in exactly the same place as they started, it’s bound to end up being labelled as a filler episode. This is what The Inside Man felt like, as it started and ended with Coulson and Talbot forming an alliance, with an unnecessary-seeming diversion plonked in the middle.
What is gained by having Talbot’s son kidnapped by Malick and Talbot turning against Coulson as a result? Not much, especially since the problem is resolved within 45 minutes and they go back to being reluctant buddies afterwards. This feels like a script idea that was meant to plug a scheduling gap, not achieve anything important.

Well, that could have gone worse. This episode of Agents of Shield, "The Inside Man," was advertised as featuring, well, an inside man. Naturally, I assumed this revelation would break my heart because that's what Whedonverse shows do. But my heart is still intact! Relationships progress and nobody dies immediately after! Less than a dozen people are brutally murdered! All in all, not emotionally devastating.

After a long day of endless interviews and routine questions, we promised both Farah and Deepika that we would keep our interview short and make it fun. So they very kindly offered to move away from the media set-up and kick back in a more relaxed environment and so began a bunch random and fun questions. Enjoy!
Farah, this is a heist film. So can you tell us what is your favourite heist film?
Farah: There are lots of them. The Inside Man, which is a super heist film. Then of course Ocean’s Eleven and The Italian Job also (the original Michael Cain one).
If there’s one thing you could steal in real life what would it be?
Deepika: I wish I could steal my family, displace them from Bangalore and place them in Bombay!
Farah: If I could steal one thing it would be Shah Rukh!

Welcome return to commercial form for actor Gerard Butler, but overall audience figures are down thanks to the spring sunshine
The winner: sunshine
The weekend before a big blockbuster is often quiet at the box office, as distributors are reluctant to release a major film, only to see it get clobbered seven days later. Consequently, with the summer blockbuster season officially kicking off this Thursday with Iron Man 3, the market is relatively becalmed. Even so, cinema owners could have done without the spring sunshine that finally arrived across much of the country on Saturday and Sunday, reducing audience numbers especially for matinees and early evening showtimes.
Including Wednesday/Thursday previews totalling £652,000, Olympus Has Fallen opened at the chart summit with £2.25m. Ignoring the previews, top title remains Tom Cruise sci-fi Oblivion, with £1.66m. For Gerard Butler, Olympus represents a welcome return to commercial form after his last film Playing for Keeps...

Even though Colin Firth (The King's Speech) was in talks to take on the villain of the film, he eventually backed out. Twitch has now learned that an offer has gone out to Clive Owen to replace Firth. Lee and Owen have a bit of history, since both worked on "The Inside Man" and have been considering re-teaming for a while. Although many thought it would on "The Inside Man" sequel. Meanwhile, "Alice in Wonderland" star Mia Wasikowska is in talks to play the female lead after negotiations with Rooney Mara (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) broke down. Wasikowska will actually star in "Stoker," which is the English-language debut of Park Chan-Wook, the director of the original "Oldboy" film.

At this moment we know that an upcoming Universal drama is inspired by the true story of a South Central gang member who volunteered to be an informant for the FBI. Check out the rest of this report for more details.

He was so successful that leaders of gangs put out a "kill all snitches" order, placing the informant's life in danger. (S07E03) Is it even possible that an NCIS team led by Jethro Leroy Gibbs would make a mistake that would leave the agency open to an investigation by a blogger with an attitude? Nah. Not our Jethro. Still, that was the premise for the case on tonight's episode.
Hard as it was for Gibbs, Dinozzo and McGee to believe they'd screwed up, when the blogger -- BeltwayBurns.com -- turned up as a corpse, a whole can of worms was upended and a closed case was suddenly wide open. Fortunately, that meant a lot more chances for Ducky to interact with Gibbs, something sorely missed in the first couple of shows.

What happens when the people who are supposed to uphold the law don't?

Ratings: NCIS kicks off Season with explosive numbers
In "The Inside Man," a blogger accuses the team of mishandling its investigation of the murder of a lieutenant, even alleging that NCIS covered up the real crime. When the blogger ends up dead, the team is forced to reopen the old case to clear itself of any wrongdoing.
To that end, Dinozzo and McGee resort to some less-than-ethical means of evidence collection, which doesn't sit well with D.C. police. Before you know it, they're headed to the slammer...

The big news about tonight's NCIS episode is our boys supposedly getting into legal trouble because of a case. I'll give you a moment to savor the picture above.
On "The Inside Man" a blogger accuses the NCIS team of mishandling its investigation of the murder of a lieutenant, going as far as accusing them of covering up the real crime altogether. To make matters worse, the blogger ends up dead, so the team is forced to reopen the old case to clear the name of NCIS.
