Rudolf Hess was the most senior Nazi to survive World War 2. He was a deputy Fuhrer to Adolf Hitler who flew to the UK during the war to try to arrange a peace deal between Nazi Germany and the British Empire. After the war he was kept imprisoned in Spandau prison in Berlin for the rest of his life, his incarceration shared between the occupying powers, Britain, the US, France and the USSR. He would eventually die in custody of suicide aged 93.
