Do you love Tim Allen? Well, you’re about to get more of him because ABC has approved a series order for ‘Shifting Gears’ that he will be helming. So we’re about to get more of that good old Tim Allen humor we love so much.
Tim Allen Returns To ABC With Comedy Show ‘Shifting Gears’
Tim Allen is going to be returning to ABC in a new comedy show. The network recently greenlit the series that will see Allen star as a widower and owner of a classic car restoration business whose adult daughter (Kat Dennings) and teenage kids move back in with him. Drama, I know right?
This will mark a return to ABC for Allen, who led the hit series ‘Home Improvement’ in the 1990s. He also appeared across six seasons of ‘Last Man Standing,’ which later moved to Fox channel for its final three seasons.

Before the milestone 50th season of "Saturday Night Live" begins, it seems like the late night sketch series is having trouble holding onto its most diverse cast members. Hot on the heels of the departure of comedian Punkie Johnson, the show's first openly queer Black woman to ever be in the cast, Molly Kearney has officially announced that they're leaving "SNL." Kearney became the show's first nonbinary cast member, joining the series at the beginning of season 48 along with Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker.
In a post to Instagram on Friday, Kearney accompanied several photos from behind the scenes of "SNL" with this sentiment:
Y'all that's a wrap on my time on SNL! Reflecting on the amazing 2 seasons I got on this show, it was such a dream come true. So incredibly grateful for this period in my life. So much love to all my big hearted buddies...

Anyone who’s ever had to sit through a corporate brainstorming session knows that stupid ideas are a dime a dozen. Looking at you, Kevin from Human Resources. But former Simpsons writer and showrunner Josh Weinstein reminds us that the funniest comedy is often the child of stupid ideas. He recently took to Twitter to “repeat this writing tip I learned at The Simpsons: Never shoot down an idea, no matter how crazy or stupid it may sound. Lean into it. It may be nothing Or it becomes the Dr. Zaius scene, which is, in fact, the combo of 5 separate ‘crazy’ ‘stupid’ pitches.”
The musical Planet of the Apes parody is considered a glittering gem from the show’s golden era. If nothing else, it’s a Troy McClure tour de force. And it all came from stupid, says Weinstein. Here are the five crazy pitches that led to the scene…...

Ever since its introduction in just the second Simpsons episode “Bart the Genius” on January 14, 1990, the opening sequence of The Simpsons has been the single most iconic intro scene in American TV history. But like America itself, it’s been in decline since the 1990s.
Every Simpsons fan knows the sequence by heart — the shot opens as the camera soars through the clouds to a patch of blue sky where the title card awaits, announced by the angelic chorus. The camera goes through the show title to pan down on the town of Springfield, stylishly cutting between each member of the Simpsons family as they finish up their day’s activities and rush home to watch TV and engage in the week’s couch gag. Bart skateboards out of detention. Lisa boogies her way out of band practice. Homer tosses a nuclear rod onto the street. And Marge, distracted in...

The release of the Fallout series earlier this year not only prompted fans to ask for the fourth installment in the series, but it also led many to demand remakes of the classics!
Remakes of classic games have become a trend in the industry, and fans are hoping their childhood favorite gets a revamp for the new generation of consoles. Here are seven games we believe now deserve a remake!
7. Fallout 3 Retreading old paths in Fallout 3 could be nostalgic. | Credits: Bethesda
When thinking of a remake for the series, many would look to New Vegas, but Fallout 3 deserves just as much attention! It is the third mainline addition to the series and the first to be worked on by Bethesda.
With a captivating story, a unique world, and classic Bethesda dialogues, it is considered one of the best RPGs in history. It’s also the first time fans of the...

Jason Reitman's movie about the first-ever broadcast of "Saturday Night Live" has finally received a title, and it's a lot more fitting than you might think. The film is called "Saturday Night," and it's missing the word "Live" for a good reason: that part of the title didn't actually appear in the earliest episodes of the long-running live comedy series.
That's because, according to Time Magazine, a new primetime series already owned the rights to the title "Saturday Night Live" when Lorne Michaels' series was in its infancy, and its home was NBC's rival network, ABC. "Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell" was a short-lived musical variety show starring the sports reporter with a big personality who gave it its title. The two shows premiered around the same time, and Time's early coverage indicates that Cosell's show, filmed at the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York, was at...

Even after rumors of a Simpsons-esque dolphin fetish surfaced online, a story about J.D. Vance’s penchant for couch-humping continues to dog the vice presidential candidate. Sure the story is clearly untrue, but nobody seems to mind.
The joke’s longevity has now been further extended by Vance himself, after he made a comment about his wife forcing him to sleep on the couch. It’s unclear how many injuries were sustained by people frantically rushing to their devices to make jokes.
The Vance rumor clearly began as a joke, an easily-debunkable claim on social media that the 2016 book Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis contained a graphic remembrance of the time Vance got intimate with “an inside-out latex glove shoved between two couch cushions.” In retrospect, it’s too bad that we never got to see this scene brought to life by Oscar-winning filmmaker Ron Howard.

The Simpsons hasn’t exactly shied away from including references to Woody Allen over the years, such as when Bart and Homer spotted him shooting a Japanese rice cracker commercial, or when he was seen hammering out Chinese fortune cookie messages, or the time he was absolutely torn apart by the comic stylings of McBain.
But while these jokes were obviously intended to demean the Oscar-winning filmmaker/accused sexual predator, the show once came very close to including an innocuous Allen reference at the worst possible time.
The second segment in “Treehouse of Horror III” was the King Kong parody “King Homer,” which ends with an old-timey newspaper spinning into frame bearing the headline “Woman Weds Ape.” Just below it is the headline “Dick Cavett Born,” featuring an image of a fully adult Dick Cavett.

Good news, everyone: Even though Futurama has been killed off and resurrected more times than Jason Voorhees, now it’s back for season 12. And while two more 10-episode seasons have already been given the go-ahead, one can’t help but wonder: where will the show go from there? Will it get canceled yet again, then brought back at some future date, possibly when the cast members are all just heads in jars?
Seeing as the show has sustained a loyal fan base for the past quarter century, why not make the next logical step by bringing Futurama to the big screen? Surely multiplexes all over the world would be packed full of Futurama fans and/or connoisseurs of jerks who pick fights in movie theaters.

One of TV’s longest-running animated comedies is boldly stepping into the streaming future. “Family Guy“, currently in its 21st season on Fox, is producing two upcoming holiday specials exclusively for Disney-owned streaming service Hulu. Creator Seth MacFarlane and 20th Television offered fans a first look at the upcoming 23rd season during a panel at Comic-Con earlier this month.
The Hulu specials will debut in 2024, continuing a strategy that has proven successful for animated giants like “The Simpsons” and “South Park”. Hulu’s deal mirrors those shows’ moves to take content directly to their parent company’s platforms. “This allows us more creative freedom outside the traditional network format,” MacFarlane tells Entertainment Weekly. A Halloween installment will kick off the slate, followed by a Thanksgiving or Christmas-themed episode.
Joining animated peers like “South Park”, which produces long-form specials for Paramount+, “Family Guy” is poised to push boundaries on Hulu. “The...

Tim Allen is officially returning to ABC.
The network has given a series order to Shifting Gears, a comedy starring Allen as a widower and owner of a classic car restoration business whose adult daughter (Kat Dennings) and teenage kids move back in with him. The series will move ahead with a new showrunner in place, as Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully (The Simpsons, Duncanville), who wrote and ran the pilot, have exited Shifting Gears. Sources say their departure was amicable and they will be credited as executive producers on the pilot. They also remain in business with Shifting Gears producer 20th Television. Is Futurama the Rodney Dangerfield of adult animation?
John Dimaggio, the actor who voices Bender, believes the show gets no respect. From shuffling time slots to actual cancellations, Matt Groening’s other creation has “been getting the short end of the stick for a while,” Dimaggio told Newsweek.
Let’s count the ways in which Futurama has received the Dangerfield treatment:
Groening conceived the show as a companion to The Simpsons, a self-created superblock of cartoon comedy. Fox had other ideas, using Futurama as a utility player and plugging it into various holes in its primetime lineup so that audiences were never sure where to find it. “When we were on Fox, I was working on King of the Hill and Futurama at the time,” said David Herman, another one of the show’s voice actors. “We were on at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. — and Fox’s slogan...

This post contains spoilers for "Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play."
"The Simpsons" has a wide-ranging cultural influence, but how many episodes of the long-running series can say they inspired an entire postmodern play? At least one: "Cape Feare," the classic season 5 outing in which Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammer) stalks Bart and forces the Simpsons family into witness protection.
Originally well-received, the episode has only grown in public estimation in the years since it aired, landing on many lists of the show's best episodes and earning an undeniable place in the hallowed halls of pop culture history. It's only fitting, then, that when playwright Anne Washburn decided to dream up a story about a post-apocalyptic world in which entertainment junkies clung to fragments of their favorite TV shows, putting them on as plays that would ultimately shape the mythology of the new world, "Cape Feare" took center stage. Washburn's thought-provoking postmodern play,...

Is “Batman: The Animated Series” the most beloved, well, animated series of the ’90s to not yet receive a reboot? Warner Animation stablemates “Tiny Toon Adventures” and “Animaniacs” have been revived for streamers; when “King of the Hill” comes back (supposedly in 2025), both of Mike Judge’s most popular shows will have made their return; and “The Simpsons” never actually left the air. Now, on the heels of “X-Men ’97” comes “Batman: Caped Crusader” — not an actual continuation of the Warner-produced, Fox-aired Batman saga, but sort of a long-overdue spiritual successor to what many consider the definitive non-comics portrayal of the character. The strongest connection to the previous show: This one is also spearheaded by Bruce Timm, who cocreated the earlier series and remained a dominant force in its development.
This makes “Caped Crusader” both a major event and a potential disappointment; maybe that’s why it’s airing...

In the "Futurama" episode "I Second That Emotion", the crass alcoholic robot Bender (John Dimaggio), having become fed up with Leela's pet whatsit Nibbler (Frank Welker), flushes him down the toilet. Leela (Katey Sagal) is distraught, but Bender is fecklessly unapologetic. The Professor (Billy West) finds that Bender may be incapable of empathy, and solves the issue by hammering a high-tech emotions chip into his head. The chip psychically links to Leela, and Bender begins feeling horrible. To solve their mutual sadness, Bender and Leela decide to go into the sewers to rescue Nibbler.
In the lore of "Futurama," the ruins of Old New York are deep underground and the city of New New York was built on its ruins.
Before going into the sewers, though, Leela finds a nearby manhole cover and removes it with a manhole hook. The manhole cover bears the face of a bored-looking man,...

Alan Wake 2 is one of those games that leaves you with more questions than it may answer. Between complex characters and convoluted themes, the game manages to bewilder players with a sense of mystery that only a studio like Remedy Entertainment can craft.

Stephen King is one of the most prolific writers of popular fiction in the history of literature. From "Carrie" to "The Dark Tower" series and everything in between, the sheer volume of beloved works that he's producing is remarkable. Many of King's works have been adapted into movies and TV shows over the years, with mixed results. But King has only personally directed one of them in the form of 1986's "Maximum Overdrive," a movie even he doesn't like.
Based on King's short story "Trucks" from the "Night Shift" collection, the film was produced by the legendary Dino De Laurentiis, with the author penning the screenplay and sitting behind the camera. The production was plagued with issues and the resulting movie was far from a success.

A Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony scene reminiscent of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” continued to stir controversy Sunday as Paris 2024 producers and the ceremony’s designer Thomas Jolly released separate, apparently opposing statements on where it drew its inspiration.
The scene in question featured a line of drag performers posing shoulder-to-shoulder on a Parisian bridge before turning the bridge into a fashion-forward catwalk. Later, those same queens celebrated over a meal where the dish was revealed to be a nearly nude man painted blue.
Many, including Jolly and the official Olympics Games X account, said that the scene is an “interpretation of the Greek God Dionysus” that “makes us aware of the absurdity of violence between human beings.”
Others, including a statement from Paris 2024 producers obtained by TheWrap Sunday, said that it was in fact inspired by Da Vinci’s famous painting — a skewing of the religious imagery...

Warning! Spoilers ahead! Move over, Simpsons, there’s another Nostradamus in town! A whopping seven years ago, we wondered what it would be like if 2017’s Logan had a post-credits sequence. What would happen? Who would it tease? What would it predict? Well, as it turns out, a fan-made video made exclusively for JoBlo.com nailed it! How ‘bout that, bubs
In the video – which was made exclusively for us by Banana-Dragon Films – we see Deadpool using a metal detector and coming across the grave of Logan (as played by Hugh Jackman). There, he opens a hand-drawn picture of himself and Wolverine, with the childish writing reading, “Deadpool 2 Love Machine”, a nod to the working title of Deadpool 2. Below that, a drawing of Deadpool holding a boatload of cash. After that, Deadpool sets about resurrecting Logan, saying, “Hugh, I want us to be together, but not like this.”

It’s that special time of year when sweaty nerds from across the globe gather in San Diego to celebrate the art of comic books, spend dumb amounts of money on useless merchandise and line up for countless hours to catch a fleeting glimpse of a celebrity presenting a movie trailer that gets dumped online before you can even exit the auditorium.
Comic-Con is also beloved by many Simpsons fans, hence why every year there are at least a few people who show up slathered in what we can only assume are near-fatal levels of yellow body paint.
Ten years ago, Comic-Con’s Simpsons panel ended up making headlines, after attendees were introduced to a very special guest: the “real life Homer Simpson.” Actually it was a Homer “hologram” brought to life using the same technology that enabled Tupac Shakur to rise from the dead and freak the hell out...

TV audiences everywhere know the premise of Sherwood Schwartz's 1964 sitcom "Gilligan's Island" from its earworm theme song. Five passengers, on vacation in Hawai'i, book a three-hour boat tour on board the S.S. Minnow, along with the ship's captain and first mate. The ship ran into some bad weather, was blown far off course, and crash-landed on an uncharted tropical island. The seven stranded castaways, all from varied class backgrounds, had to comedically survive. The series only lasted three seasons but burned itself deep into the collective unconsciousness. Jung would be proud.
Thanks to the gods of syndication, "Gilligan's Island" remained on the air almost perpetually for decades. Several generations were raised on "Gilligan's" reruns, and audiences can still see it to this very day on streaming services like Tubi.
But, like anything that can be watched hundreds of times, "Gilligan's Island" began to buckle under sheaves of unwarranted scrutiny.

The Simpsons is bringing some huge names to Springfield this fall! At San Diego Comic-Con last month, producers spilled the details on celebrity cameos and creative collaborations coming up in Season 36.
Kicking things off is Conan O’Brien in the episode “Bart’s Birthday.” Conan was actually a Simpsons writer way back when, so it’ll be fun to see him back where it all began. Danny DeVito is also stopping by the party – he first played Homer’s brother Herb years ago, so viewers will be curious to see what role he plays now.
Another big name making his Simpsons debut is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I mean, John Cena! The former wrestling-turned-movie star seems like a natural fit for the show’s silly humor. And can you believe they got Tom Hanks too? The Oscar winner has never appeared on the show before now.

The Simpsons has a stacked list of guest stars in the Season 36 premiere debuting this Fall. The iconic animated series revealed that former Simpsons writer Conan O’Brien will return for a major guest spot in the season premiere during its panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 27, and he’s not the only big name. Vice President Kamala Harris also made a surprise virtual cameo during the panel. O’Brien will be joined by Tom Hanks, Danny DeVito, and John Cena as guest stars when The Simpsons returns on Sunday, September 29 on Fox. The episode is titled “Bart’s Birthday,” and the producers said they’re taking a big swing with the plot. “It’s kind of crazy, star-studded premiere,” showrunner Matt Selman said during the panel, per Variety. “It’s a pretty bold, big idea.” Selman was joined on the panel by creator Matt Groening and producers Rob Lazebnik,...

Kamala Harris has made one of her first campaign stops in the town of Springfield.
The Vice President of the United States surprised The Simpsons fans with a pre-recorded video message on Saturday during the long-running Fox animated show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, after creator Matt Groening introduced the “superfan.”
“We must move forward, not backward, upward, not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom,” said Harris with a laugh, quoting the Oct. 27, 1996 episode ‘Treehouse of Horror VII’. The clip recently resurfaced after it was recorded by a group of University of Chicago students in 2013.
The episode aired during the ’96 presidential election between Bill Clinton and Bob Dole, with aliens Kang and Kodos impersonating the candidates in a debate. The line was spoken by Kodos in disguise as Clinton.

The 35th annual “Treehouse of Horror” episode is coming from “The Simpsons” this Halloween season, and we’ve got a preview out of San Diego Comic-Con this afternoon.
The team has revealed at Comic-Con today that this year’s “Treehouse of Horror” will spoof Venom with the segment Denim, centered on Homer’s “deep relationship with a simple alien symbiotic pair of jeans.” Check out the teaser poster for that segment down below.
Showrunner Matt Selman tells Variety, “It’s a really funny, silly segment… the jeans are going to be actual stop motion denim created by the Stoopid Buddies animators that do the ‘Robot Chicken’ shows.”
Additionally, we’ve learned that another spooky episode of “The Simpsons” is headed our way this coming Fall titled “Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes.” That episode will spoof a trio of stories from Ray Bradbury, who of course wrote Something Wicked This Way Comes.

The Simpsons panel at San Diego Comic-Con saved a final surprise for last, as the event ended with a resurfaced video message from Vice President Kamala Harris.
After introducing the final clip as coming from a “super fan,” Matt Groening — who created the animated Fox series that is soon to launch its 36th season — set up footage of a laughing Harris delivering a well-known line from a previous “Treehouse of Horror” episode. The clip was recorded years ago by a group of University of Chicago students who were tasked with getting an elected official to recite a Simpsons quote.
“We must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom,” Harris said in the clip. It led to big cheers from the crowd, who appeared to assume that the moment was filmed for the panel, given that no context was provided about the clip.

The Simpsons is partnering with the folks from Stoopid Buddy (“Robot Chicken”) to take on “Venom” in this fall’s annual “Treehouse of Horror” extravaganza. In this case, Homer meets his match with “Denim.” It’s the 35th “Treehouse of Horror,” and the show is promising “the scariest 35th Halloween special ever.”

While the world enjoys the pageantry of the 2024 Summer Olympics hosted by the good cheese-eating surrender monkeys of Paris, France, let’s remember that, if the Olympic committee hadn’t won the gold medal for Worst Audience, this year’s mediocre mascot would have nothing on the Goat Springy.
Hosting the entire international athletic community for the Summer Olympics is possibly the most ambitious and expensive temporary undertaking that a global city can tackle. Preparations for the games take many years, many billions of dollars and many, many, capable, creative and devoted planners, politicians and civil engineers — basically, it’s a project that only Springfield-level cities can handle.
However, Simpsons fans may be surprised to learn that, despite the many different reasons why the Simpsons’ hometown is as good a fit as Paris or any other host city for the Olympic honor, the International Olympic Committee refused to hold the...

Flush with new cash thanks to The Walt Disney Company, Doctor Who is getting another spinoff.
The BBC and Disney+ have ordered The War Between The Land And The Sea, a five-part spinoff series starring Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw alongside existing Doctor Who stars Jemma Redgrave and Alexander Devrient.
The War Between The Land And The Sea focuses on military organization Unit. Per the logline, when a fearsome and ancient species emerges from the ocean, dramatically revealing themselves to humanity, an international crisis is triggered. With the entire population at risk, Unit steps into action as the land and sea wage war.
Doctor Who showrunner and executive producer Russell T Davies wrote the spinoff with Pete McTighe (A Discovery of Witches) and it features the return of the Sea Devils, classic Doctor Who villains first seen in 1972. It comes after the spinoff was alluded to in the 73 Yards episode,...

J.D. Vance’s vice presidential campaign isn’t going so well. It hasn’t even been two weeks since former president/current guy who thinks Hannibal Lecter is a real person Donald Trump selected Vance as his running mate (seemingly because he was enchanted by the author and senator’s “beautiful blue eyes”), yet Vance has already found himself in the middle of a headline-dominating scandal concerning a rumor that he once went full “Andrew from Big Mouth” on a couch.
The couch-humping thing was clearly just a joke, stemming from a social media post claiming that the salacious confession was printed in the pages of Vance’s book Hillbilly Elegy. While this story was easily debunked with a simple scan of the book, it nonetheless sparked countless memes, and was given further oxygen when the Associated Press deleted its article “No, Jd Vance Did Not Have Sex with a Couch,...

There was once a time when The Simpsons was considered to be so crass and uncultured that the show was publicly derided by America’s First Family, and the mere sight of Bart Simpson on a T-shirt was cause for scandal.
But that’s all changed now. The show has been accepted as a keystone of contemporary culture, and one of the greatest comedic works of all-time. And there’s perhaps no greater sign of just how well-respected the show is now than the fact that there’s currently a Simpsons-themed exhibit in a legit European art gallery.
The Karikaturmuseum Krems is the “first and only museum for political caricature, satire and critical cartoon art in Austria.” And to celebrate the 35th anniversary of The Simpsons, it’s presenting a special exhibition entitled “Here Comes Bart! It feels like yesterday, but back in 2020, the Star Trek franchise launched its first animated comedy with Lower Decks. The brainchild of Rick and Morty writer Mike McMahan, Lower Decks follows the misadventures of a Starfleet crew not cool enough to boldly go on Enterprise-level voyages. For five seasons of warm-hearted sci-fi comedy, Jack Quaid and Tawny Newsome have led the series as the voices of stickler Brad Boimler and rule-breaker Beckett Mariner, respectively. In 2023, they even played their animated characters in a live-action crossover episode of Strange New Worlds.

Steven Spielberg’s ‘new original event film,’ set for release in May 2026, is called The Dish.
Steven Spielberg’s next film – his first since 2022’s The Fabelmans – is due out in May 2026, and it now looks as though it has a title. During a recent IMAX presentation for investors, a slide showed a string of upcoming releases from various Hollywood studios, and there, sandwiched between the next Avengers film and The Mandalorian And Grogu is a film called The Dish.
As first noted by World Of Reel, this is undoubtedly Spielberg’s previously untitled project, vaguely billed by Universal Pictures as a “new original event film.”
The Dish title also sounds of a piece with the report going around that Spielberg’s cooking up some sort of UFO-themed movie with screenwriter David Koepp. Certainly, the title brings to mind his friend Robert Zemeckis’ terrific 1997 sci-fi film Contact, in which Jodie Foster...

Over the last five years, Disney released several films that were weirdly — and perhaps unintentionally — subversive. Tim Burton’s “Dumbo,” which came out just nine days after the studio finalized its purchase of 20th Century Fox, is a movie about how the worst thing an artist can do is sell out to the corporate owners of an amusement park. Burton would know.
Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn’s “Wish” celebrated the studio’s 100th anniversary by telling a tale about how hoarding intellectual property is the most evil thing anyone can do. The only way to atone for that sin: for the rulers of a magic kingdom to give all their IP back to its original creators.
So one might think that “Deadpool & Wolverine” — a crossover between the old 20th Century Fox “X-Men” universe and its former competitor, the Marvel Cinematic Universe — might be another thinly veiled critique of Disney’s corporate studio system.

The Emmys often gravitate towards established favorites in their nominations for Best Animated Program, as evidenced by the constant recognition of 35-year-old stalwart “The Simpsons,” which won for the 12th time in 2023. It can be a challenge for new shows to get on voters’ radar. But when they do break through with hard-fought nominations, in recent years the academy has been drawn to the shiny new objects. Perhaps that’s why this year’s front-runners, according to our early racetrack odds, are first-time nominees “X-Men ’97” (for the episode “Remember It”) and “Blue Eye Samurai” (for the episode “The Tale of the Ronin and the Bride”).

Everything’s coming up Milhouse — including the doors on his ride.
Ever since his introduction in a Butterfingers commercial during The Simpsons' days on The Tracey Ullman Show, Milhouse Van Houten has been the butt of every joke that’s been gracious enough to include him. With a moniker borrowed from Richard Nixon’s middle name, a broken home and a tender heart that doesn’t inspire romance nearly as much as it attracts aggression, Milhouse might just be the most unfortunate fourth grader at Springfield Elementary, and his classmates never miss a chance to remind him of that fact.
However, one pointy-haired, vegetarian Venus has occasionally tossed Milhouse the small crumbs of compassion that inspire an ever-lasting crush in a lonely heart — Milhouse has loved little Lisa dearly for 35 seasons, and, if his predictions are correct, today may be the day that he finally buys her love in return.

Google a list of the all-time best Saturday Night Live hosts, and you’ll find a surprising number of people who you’d never guess were funny in the first place.
I mean, before SNL, who knew athletes Charles Barkley and Peyton Manning were hilarious? Who watched Nsync videos and predicted that Justin Timberlake had “Dick in a Box” in him? Billie Eilish? Chance the Rapper? Anyone have news anchor Brian Williams on their funny bingo card?
As the show embarks on its landmark 50th season, here are five more suggestions for out-of-the-box SNL hosts who just might knock it out of the park…
1 Tony Hawk
Hawk has been quietly comedy-adjacent for years, appearing in College Humor sketches, skateboarding in a fat suit in a Jackass movie and lending his voice to The Simpsons.
His Twitter feed is surprisingly funny, too, full of self-deprecating jabs and goofy insights. As a performer,...

After The Simpsons accurately predicted Donald Trump‘s presidency, Armando Iannucci doesn’t want that smoke.
The Veep creator took to X to remind fans that his Emmy Award-winning HBO series (2012-2019) was purely fictional, despite perceived similarities to President Joe Biden‘s announcement that he’s dropping out of the 2024 presidential election and his endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.
“Let’s remind ourselves that #Veep has already written a fictional version of this script .. Kamala *inherits* the actual presidency. Then runs. The electoral college is tied. The house vote is tied. Which means the Senate has to choose the tie breaking candidate. And that ends up with … Jd Vance as Potus (Nb this is Drama …)” wrote one fan.
Iannucci quoted the post, adding: “Don’t forget we made all that up, though.”
Since Biden’s endorsement of Harris, plenty of fans have taken to social media with memes...
