We know that Supernatural is one of the most popular fantasy series of all time and that it is now considered to be a cult classic among genre fans. And really, Kripke’s show managed to do something that not many shows were able to do, and we can only praise the overall quality of the series.
Of course, a lot of the series’ success has to be attributed to its stars, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who played Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively, two brothers who chased and fought various supernatural threats. It made stars out of the principal actors and years after the finale, fans are still demanding more.
And while we have recently reported on Padalecki in the context of his The Boys cameo, where he would team up with Ackles’ Soldier Boy in some way, it seems that the actor is teasing another reunion with his Supernatural co-star,...

Joe Egan, who co-founded Stealers Wheel with Gerry Rafferty and co-wrote and sang on the enduring hit “Stuck in the Middle with You,” died July 6. He was 77. The news was shared on the late Rafferty’s official Facebook page, but no details were provided.
“Very sad news that the other half of Stealers Wheel, Joe Egan, passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon with his nearest and dearest around him,” read the post on the page run by Rafferty’s daughter, Martha. “I will always remember him as a sweet and gentle soul. May he rest in peace.”
Egan — who originally dreamed of soccer stardom — and Rafferty met as teenagers at St. Mirin’s Academy in their hometown of Paisley, Scotland, and formed Stealers Wheel in the early 1970s. Their first two singles stiffed, but the third would become a rock and pop standard.

Supernatural fans haven’t been the same since their favorite TV show ended in 2020, and even Jensen Ackles’s attempt to revive it with The Winchesters didn’t help. The prequel series just didn’t hit the same because it wasn’t the same, but there’s a cure for (nearly) every disease: to bring back the thrill and vibe of Supernatural, they simply need to bring back Supernatural itself!
Lead star Jared Padalecki is not only down for it but claims the revival is a matter of fact. Apparently, he and Ackles have long planned it, and they’ll get to work soon.

After Supernatural wrapped up its fifteen season run back in 2020, the franchise was supposed to live on through the prequel series The Winchesters… but then the show’s home network The CW was taken over by a new management team that came in with the intention of wiping the CW slate clean for the most part. The Winchesters was cancelled after one season, then couldn’t find a new home because it had to be shopped around during the writers strike, when networks and streamers were hesitant to make major pickup decisions. But there still might be more Supernatural in our future, as the show’s stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are very open to returning to the roles of monster hunting brothers Sam and Dean Winchester at some point – and in fact, Padalecki has said in a new interview that he’s “dying to” make a revival season.

Logan Huntzberger was, arguably, Rory Gilmore’s most important romantic relationship. He was her longest-standing beau and her first relationship as a true adult. While Gilmore Girls fans have spent years arguing over which love interest was best suited to Rory, most fans agree that Logan was supposed to share characteristics with someone very important in Rory’s life. Viewers have yet to agree on which important character in Rory’s life he was the most like, though. There are three schools of thought on the topic.
Fan Theory #1: Logan Huntzberger was the most like Christopher Hayden
When Gilmore Girls fans first met Logan Huntzberger, he was a party boy who didn’t take anything particularly seriously. He was allergic to responsibility and avoided it at all costs. Logan hated his family and their expectations of him. Still, he was happy to use his family name and the prestige...

Gilmore Girls fans have spent years arguing over the merits of Rory Gilmore’s boyfriends. They’ve debated whether Luke Danes and Lorelai Gilmore were really the endgame couple and discussed Emily and Richard Gilmore’s parenting style. While there is plenty to disagree about regarding Gilmore Girls, most fans believe Lane Kim should never have married Zack Van Gerbig. Keiko Agena, the actor who spent seven years playing Lane, doesn’t seem convinced her character is happy with Zack either. In fact, Agena thinks Lane would still be a bit heartbroken over Dave Ryglaski, her high school beau.

The recent cancellation of The CW’s popular reboot “Walker” has left fans with more questions than answers, particularly regarding the surprise appearance of James Van Der Beek in the season four finale. In a revealing interview with TVLine, showrunner Anne Fricke has now shed light on what could have been a compelling storyline for the show’s fifth season.
Van Der Beek, introduced in the final episode as Walker’s new neighbor, was set to take on the role of a “kooky” cult leader in the upcoming season. This unexpected turn for the “Dawson’s Creek” alum would have showcased a different side of his acting range, blending comedy with a touch of villainy.
“We were going to do the cult next door,” Fricke explained. “He was going to be a really whimsical, amusing character. We were not going to do blood cult, bad, bad, bad cult. We were going to do like kooky cult.

Lionsgate has released the first trailer and poster for “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” a festive comedy set to hit theaters on November 8, 2024. Directed by Dallas Jenkins, creator of the popular series “The Chosen,” this adaptation of Barbara Robinson’s beloved children’s novel promises to bring small-town charm and holiday spirit to audiences nationwide.
The film follows the antics of the Herdman children – infamously known as the worst kids in town – as they unexpectedly take over their local church’s Christmas pageant. This chaotic takeover sets the stage for a heartwarming journey that may reveal the true meaning of Christmas to a bewildered community.
The star-studded cast includes Judy Greer, Pete Holmes, Elizabeth Tabish (“The Chosen”), and Lauren Graham. Graham’s involvement is particularly noteworthy, given her iconic status as Lorelai Gilmore in the enduringly popular “Gilmore Girls” series.

Gilmore Girls concluded several years ago, but fans still enjoy rewatching the mother-daughter classic. Now, a few of the stars have had a sweet mini-reunion.
Lauren Graham starred as quirky Lorelai Gilmore, while Kelly Bishop played her no-nonsense mother, Emily. It’s been several years since the women shared the stage together, but they recently caught up as if no time had passed.

Gilmore Girls aired its final season in 2007. Netflix put out a four-part reboot in 2016. Although fans loved catching up with their favorite Stars Hollow residents, they weren’t wild about the reboot’s content.
Lorelai and Emily Gilmore were constantly at odds with one another. Thankfully, that’s not the case in real life. Avid Gilmore Girls fans will be pleased to know that Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop are still incredibly close after all these years.

There's nothing quite like a TV show that features our protagonists watching another, somewhat random TV show. In "The Sopranos," Tony at one point unwinds with an episode of "Gilmore Girls." In "Community," pop culture superfan Abed gets really, really into the ABC sitcom "Cougar Town." And in "Family Guy," the Griffin family watches, well, everything.
"Lucifer," the cult favorite supernatural series that aired from 2016 to 2021, took the TV-show-in-a-tv-show trope one step further by using a different primetime series as the catalyst for one of its best callbacks. In a season 3 plot, Luci (Tom Ellis) refuses to sleep after learning that he may be moonlighting as a guardian angel in a fantastical take on sleepwalking. He stays up for a week straight, binge-watching 12 seasons of the always-gross, always-shippable hit forensics drama "Bones" all the while, and even resurfaces with a new nickname for Chloe (Lauren German).

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “See You Sometime,” the series finale of The CW’s Walker. In 2000, at the age of 17, Jared Padalecki landed the role of Dean Forester, the first love of Alexis Bledel’s Rory Gilmore, on the hit family dramedy series Gilmore Girls. Originally contracted for only four episodes, Padalecki went on to appear in the first five seasons of Gilmore and then booked Supernatural — both of which debuted on The WB before transitioning to The CW in 2006. For two decades, Padalecki emerged as the face of The CW. After playing Sam Winchester...

In the world of Hollywood, actors and actresses place huge emphasis on how they look on screen as well as off-screen. From fad diets to even surgery, looking a certain way has always been on the radar of the A-listers. However, for the talented Melissa McCarthy, the story is quite different from the hustle and bustle of Tinsel Town.

McCarthy has come a long way from being told she won’t get work unless she loses weight to now being one of Hollywood’s most popular entertainers. However, it was not always like that for her, and she had to go through a number of diets that eventually had a negative impact on her.

Over nearly two decades and three shows, Jared Padalecki has been one of the faces of The CW. But that doesn’t mean the actor likes where the network is headed. IndieWire (via Variety) reports that Padalecki didn’t hold back about The CW’s future after the network canceled his latest series, “Walker.” In his eyes, its shift to “easy, cheap content” over shows like “Gilmore Girls” and “Supernatural” that gave Padalecki a career will be a downfall.

Jared Padalecki doesn’t need a crystal ball to see where The CW is heading.
The actor, who has been part of the network for more than 20 years across “Supernatural,” “Gilmore Girls,” and the newly-canceled “Walker,” reflected on his tenure at The CW. Padalecki is clearly a veteran of the network, which was then known as The WB when he joined before it was rebranded as The CW in 2006.
“I thought ‘Walker’ was kind of a mixture of ‘Gilmore Girls’ and ‘Supernatural.’ It was a family show with excitement and stunts, and macro storylines married with the micro,” Padalecki told Variety.
Yet that tentpole kind of storytelling is no longer what The CW wants to greenlight, according to the actor/producer.
“I talked with the head of CBS [Studios] and the head of Nexstar/CW, I talked with the other [executive producers] on ‘Walker,’ and I think it was a multivariate kind of issue,...

One of the shows that made The CW as popular as it was until the recent changes was Supernatural. Launched in 2005, the show quickly gained an army of fans around the world and became the pinnacle of the careers of its two stars.
Despite the fact that Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who portrayed Sam and Dean Winchesters on the show, eventually made the decision to leave, Supernatural will forever remain a very unique chapter in their acting experience. Even the way they decided to end the show's run is not a story you hear often from other sets.
Why Did Supernatural End on Season 15?
Even though Padalecki didn't get much of a say in his last show, Walker, which was canceled along with many others after The CW's rebranding, it wasn't always the case. Looking back on his time on both Gilmore Girls and Supernatural, the actor realizes how...

With as many changes as The CW has undergone in recent years, the cancellation of all of its original programming was almost inevitable. Those who have followed the network's journey are more surprised that even one show, All American, remains stronger than all the others that have been cut, no matter what their ratings.
Along with All American, Walker was one of the network's strongest titles. A reboot of the iconic '90s action series, it was showing strong numbers and would likely be just as successful in the future. However, the show was canceled after season 4, and Jared Padalecki is still struggling to come to terms with the news.

Spoiler Alert: This interview contains spoilers from “See You Sometime,” the series finale of The CW’s “Walker.”
In 2000, at the age of 17, Jared Padalecki landed the role of Dean Forester, the first love of Alexis Bledel’s Rory Gilmore, on the hit family dramedy series “Gilmore Girls.” Originally contracted for only four episodes, Padalecki went on to appear in the first five seasons of “Gilmore” and then booked “Supernatural” — both of which debuted on The WB before surviving the transition to The CW in 2006.
For the better part of the next two decades, Padalecki would emerge as the face of The CW. After playing Sam Winchester — one-half of a dynamic duo of monster-hunting brothers — for 15 seasons on “Supernatural,” the actor became the star and executive producer of “Walker,” a modern-day reimagining of the hit ’90s series that featured Chuck Norris as a high-kicking Texas Ranger. But following the cancellation of “Walker” last month,...

One of the best things about television is the way it allows the viewers to escape the mundane routine and get into entirely new worlds. However, if these worlds are heavy on the lore or violence, they may make a better watch for the weekend. At the end of a working day, there is nothing better than just relaxing.
Here are 10 TV shows which are perfect for that on Netflix. Get your subscription ready and join another fun adventure.
Gilmore Girls (2000-2007)
While there was no shortage of dramatic moments in the show, Gilmore Girls created a very comforting setting of the closed world of a small town with a strong community that many long for today. The show had its ups and downs, but watching good people support each other to be better is the ultimate comfort.
Heartstopper (2022-...)

Jared Padalecki is feeling a bit spent.
The actor got his big break on The WB’s Gilmore Girls in 2000 as Rory’s love interest, before moving on in 2005 to star alongside Jensen Ackles in Supernatural. Little did Padalecki know that the series would go on to air for 15 seasons, after which he segued into a starring and executive-producing role on The CW’s Walker, which wraps up its four-season run this Wednesday at 8/7c.

Jared Padalecki got candid about his struggles with suicidal ideation which drove him to seek treatment at a facility for a few weeks in 2015.
During an appearance on I’ve Never Said This Before With Tommy Didario, the actor sat down with wife Genevieve Padalecki and the host to discuss everything from Walker‘s recent cancellation to the possibility of a Supernatural reboot and his mental health.
When asked by Tommy Didario to share one thing he’s never openly addressed, Padalecki revealed he once checked himself into a clinic during a “really low moment” in his life.
“I was letting my brain, letting my thoughts, kind of take over and go into places of like dramatic suicidal ideation,” he told the host, “and called my wife, and she said, ‘Get home.’ And so got home, went to a clinic for a couple of weeks and looked into it and haven’t been suicidal since,...

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have finally splurged on the purchasable honor of a gilded sidewalk square on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Maybe they’ll also join the Film Actors Guild while they’re at it.
Now, the natural reaction of a South Park fan who wisely pays little attention to the many ego-inflating honors and ceremonies that the entertainment industry’s A-and-b-listers award themselves on an annual basis will have to the recent news that the show’s creators are just now getting their names carved in gold on Hollywood Boulevard will be something along the lines of, “Wait, why the hell didn’t Trey Parker and Matt Stone already have a star on the Walk of Fame? What was Hollywood waiting for?”
Well, the issue wasn’t exactly that Hollywood refused to recognize Parker, Stone and South Park’s cultural importance for a quarter-century. No, it’s...

Jamie Kellner, the charismatic and crafty executive who expanded the broadcast television landscape by helping hatch the Fox and WB networks in 1987 and 1995, respectively, had died. He was 77.
Kellner died Friday at his Montecito, California, home after a battle with cancer, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
While still riding high atop The WB, Kellner in March 2001 was given additional responsibilities overseeing TBS, TNT and CNN as chairman and CEO of Time Warner sister company Turner Broadcasting System. But he was at that for just two years, before he retired and served out the remainder of his contract back in Burbank.
Meanwhile, Kellner was chairman of the station ownership group Acme Communications — named after the company in the Road Runner cartoons at Warner Bros. — from its launch in 1997 until it was liquidated in 2016. Since premiering at Telluride in Fall 2023, the directorial debut of playwright-turned-filmmaker Annie Baker, “Janet Planet,” has been lauded as an understated gem, with Julianne Nicholson garnering particular praise for serving as one of the central forces the film gravitates around. The film opened in New York yesterday and hits Los Angeles on June 28th and with it, perhaps the recognition Nicholson finally deserves after her multi-decade career as an actress.
“Normally, the first thing that’s said about me is ‘underused,’ ‘underappreciated,’ ‘overlooked,’” said Nicholson in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, amused by the branding she’s been given. “Normally, I’m fine with it because I continue to work. But every once in a while, I feel like, ‘Oh, my God. I’m so tired — am I still trying to get people’s attention?’”

Jamie Kellner, an extremely well-respected TV executive who helped launch Fox and The WB broadcast networks, has died at the age of 77.
At Fox, Kellner developed The Simpsons, Married…With Children, In Living Color, Beverly Hills 90210 and Cops. While at The WB, he developed Dawson’s Creek, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gilmore Girls, and 7th Heaven, which he created with Aaron Spelling and Brenda Hampton.

Jamie Kellner, who made his name as the only exec ever to create two broadcast networks — Fox and The WB (both of which also achieved profitability under his watch), died Friday at his home in Montecito, Calif. He was 77. Kellner had a tremendous impact on the television business in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s, and was considered an entrepreneur at heart as he built Fox and The WB, and then independently created the Acme Communications stations group, and for a time ran Turner Broadcasting as chairman and CEO (succeeding Ted Turner).
Kellner’s impact includes landmark programming like “The Simpsons,” “Married… With Children,” “Cops,” “In Living Color” and “21 Jump Street” at Fox; the long run of pop cultural touchstones at the WB like “Dawson’s Creek,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “Gilmore Girls,” “7th Heaven” and “Felicity”; and he even worked with Lorne Michaels in the first syndication sale of...

Young Sheldon has catapulted The Big Bang Theory fans to Sheldon Cooper’s early life, highlighting the challenges he faces as a child prodigy, and his struggle to fit into a society that often misunderstood him. Among several interesting moments, the prequel series touched fans’ heartstrings with the funeral scene of George Cooper Sr., portrayed by Lance Barber in the show.

Given that this particular scene marked an emotional turning point for the series, Barber initially planned to inject some humor while filming that part. However, he eventually dropped that idea due to a heartbreaking reason, which involves the show’s cast.

Much to Oz Cobb’s chagrin, the recent death of crime boss Carmine Falcone will not clear the way for him to run Gotham City as he’d hoped.
Max on Thursday unveiled a new trailer for The Penguin, its series offshoot of Matt Reeves’ The Batman, in which Colin Farrell’s title character hopes to call the shots in Gotham after Carmine Falcone’s demise. Keiko Agena is opening up about the mixed feelings she has when thinking back to playing Lane Kim on the popular TV series Gilmore Girls.
The actress, who played Rory Gilmore’s (Alexis Bledel) music-loving best friend for all seven seasons from 2000-07, recalled her experience on the Dear Felicity rewatch podcast, admitting that she has a different perspective of her character compared to what fans may have.
“For me, it’s this separate thing a little bit because I think what [the role] was for people was different than what it was for me,” she explained. “And so, in a weird way, I feel like I want to honor the experience that people had from the show, and what it meant to them, especially young Asian people, because I get that comment a lot, about what it was like for them to see someone like that onscreen.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was founded in 1908 as one of the domestic intelligence agencies and the top law enforcement agency in the US. In reality, the FBI's mandate includes preventing global espionage and terrorist activity, but on screen, the FBI is often portrayed as a special forces agency that takes on the most difficult and mysterious crimes.

Some television shows we miss the most have only lasted one season.
Many of these series found their way into our hearts because of their emotional heart or their wit.
Some we’ve loved for decades, and others are newer favorites, but the TV Fanatic staff wished that many of these shows had gotten better resolutions or a fairer chance.
There are so many one-season wonders that never received a fair chance.
While we’d love to showcase all of them, here are nine that remain in our hearts.

My So-Called Life (ABC)
When My So-Called Life premiered in 1994, it faced heavy competition. Time slot-wise, it was up against Friends and other great shows of the period.
In terms of similar shows that aired on different days but were aimed at teens, the biggest competition was probably from Beverly Hills 90210.

Young Sheldon's Lance Barber, who portrayed George Cooper Sr. on the show from the first season to the last, became its heart and soul. Though flawed like any other character, he was loyal and dedicated to his family and tried his best to succeed in life while treating everyone with kindness.
Unfortunately, the series ended on a tragic note, as George passed away from a heart attack, and the entire Cooper family paid their respects at his funeral. On the bright side, Young Sheldon wasn't the first time Lance Barber appeared on television. And although some of his roles were minor, the titles from his filmography may surprise you.

During its run on The WB (and The CW) from 2000-2007, "Gilmore Girls" emerged as one of TV's most beloved teen drama shows, eventually finding a second life on Netflix. It was lauded for its rapid-fire banter laden with pop culture references, its quaint New England charm, and its quirky characters. All of this was held together by the unshakeable bond between Lorelai and Rory Gilmore — more like the best of friends than mother and daughter.
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, "Gilmore Girls" has since become the ultimate cozy watch, especially during Pumpkin Spice Latte season. The series takes us through Ivy League ambitions, boyfriend troubles, and some of the greatest will-they-or-won't-they? romantic tension of all time, between the bubbly, perpetually-caffeinated Lorelai and grumpy diner owner Luke Danes.
But, "Oy with the poodles already!" If you're reading this list, you already know what "Gilmore Girls" is all about, so let's start ranking the seasons.

Following The Big Bang Theory’s immense success, Young Sheldon went back to the past exploring Sheldon Cooper’s earlier years in his family house in Texas before he moved to California for better perspectives and met his best friend Leonard there.
With a significant time jump that the prequel makes, it was hardly possible to ever bring some of the original characters to Young Sheldon, yet the show proved the contrary by reuniting Sheldon’s younger and adult versions in the finale. However, the prequel also featured another major character that was seen in The Big Bang Theory, and this time it is indeed very hard to believe.
For those who were left heartbroken after Young Sheldon’s ending and opted for rewatching the original show to fill the void, one actor in a cameo role may appear to be pretty much familiar. Season 5 episode 11 introduces Jimmy Speckerman, a...

Whether it’s How I Met Your Mother, Law & Order, or Gilmore Girls, everyone seems to have a comfort show. Like that one snack that always sounds good, it’s a show you know you can count on time and time again. You never really get tired of watching it, and you just feel better after indulging in an episode. But what exactly defines a comfort watch? What does a comfort show even look like in today’s streaming-dominant world?
I can understand why many people immediately associate “comfort watch” exclusively with the likes of Friends and The Office. Sitcoms like this not only provide familiarity, but also simplicity. It’s nice to imagine a world where conflicts miraculously get resolved in 30 minutes or less, there’s hardly any real, lasting consequences, and everyone sits down for a nice dinner together at the end.

Nowadays, it seems like a quaint notion that a television series might stay on the air long enough to run out of ideas.
But almost fifty years ago, even a successful show like Happy Days wasn't immune to using outlandish stunts to bolster ratings.
And thank goodness for that, or we might all have been deprived of the cultural touchstone that is Fonzie jumping the shark.
Fonzie Jumps the Shark (And Enters History)
The phrase "jump the shark" has become shorthand for the moment when a television show loses its creative way and begins a downward spiral in quality and popularity.
However, when the actual shark jump happened in the "Hollywood: Part 3" episode of the show's fifth season, Happy Days hit number one in the Nielsen ratings.
The series aired for another six well-received seasons and even had successful spinoffs in the sitcoms Laverne & Shirley and Mork & Mindy.

I’ve always been a big fan of cozy small-town shows. I grew up on Gilmore Girls, watch Ginny & Georgia religiously, and never pass up a chance to return to the comfort of One Tree Hill. But somehow, I’ve never gotten around to bingeing Netflix’s Virgin River.
The romantic drama, which premiered in 2019, centers on Mel Monoe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner and midwife who goes to work in the tiny, remote Northern California town of Virgin River in search of a fresh start — but like any charming small town, it comes with complications. The show is based on the book series of the same name by Robyn Carr, who also serves as an executive producer. In May 2023, it was renewed for a sixth season.

"Gilmore Girls" is known as one of the most rewatchable comfort shows of the aughts. It's beloved for its mile-a-minute dialogue, surreally perfect small-town setting, and a warm central relationship that's held together via the power of mom-daughter love and a shared fondness for junk food and pop culture. It's that last part that makes one of the show's own pop culture connections especially ironic: Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel) love classic TV, but they're blissfully unaware that they're living with two stars of one of the most talked-about early sitcoms.
The pair live next door to a woman named Babette, a true eccentric who's as adorable as she is overbearing. Babette often says whatever comes to mind in her signature raspy voice, and she brings a sort of benevolent chaos to the series that counters some of Stars Hollows' more genuinely annoying characters. Eric Kripke is gonna catch ’em all. “The Boys” showrunner has slowly but surely been casting the stars of the iconic CW series “Supernatural,” which Kripke created, on his R-rated Amazon Prime Video superhero drama. And he’s got one “very big one” he’s eyeing to bring on in Season 5, even if it’s for “a single episode” — Jared Padalecki, a.k.a. Sam Winchester.
“He’s been busy the last few years, so schedules haven’t worked out,” Kripke told Variety in an interview Thursday, referring to Padalecki’s starring role on the CW’s “Walker,” which was canceled earlier this week after four seasons. Padalecki starred alongside Jensen Ackles on the CW’s “Supernatural” for 15 seasons, from its debut on what was then the WB in 2005 through its series finale in 2020.
“But now, unfortunately, [‘Walker’] got canceled — but the good thing is he’s free,” Kripke said.
