The Yankees have done it. They have stormed past the Boston Red Sox and the rest of the American league to take the AL east division championship title. Now, they must face the Kansas City Royals in the American league championship series. The series at first seemed like a roller coater ride, as the Royals and the Yankees won one game apiece at Yankee Stadium, but the Royals won one game in the first at Kaufmann Stadium. The Yankees are endangered of being eliminated. Then, came game 4 which the Yankees won. Before game 5, Jackson was told that he was not playing because of his statistics in the series. Jackson did whatever he can to keep the team in the series. Then, Billy Martin brought up Sparky Lyle in the 4th inning, which gave the Yankees an extra edge. Jackson came to pinch hit, which he got a hit and some runs to win the ALCS.
