“Reasonable Doubt” Season 2 is headed back into the courtroom, and the cast, as well as the slew of new additions are ready to put it in session.
It’s been a minute since Season 1 of “Reasonable Doubt,” and between Jax getting kidnapped by a deranged client-turned-lover and her bestie Shanelle (Shannon Kane) seemingly murdering her husband, there’s no telling what’s about to go down in Season 2. But the series brought in veteran actor Morris Chestnut, who will star as defense attorney Corey Cash, to help lift the load.
Other newcomers to the series include Essence Atkins, who will star as a domestic violence expert named Dr. Brandy Michaels; Melissa Ponzio, who plays a new District Attorney named Lucy Wargo; Vaughn W. Hebron, who will star as an ex-NFL player and Jt’s (Shannon’s now-dead husband) mentee named Adrian Hunter; and Kandi Burris, who will play Eboni Phillips,...

When it comes to creators of animated superhero shows, few names resonate as strongly as John Semper. The realm of superheroes is ever-evolving. It is spread across multiple forms of media and holds a special place in the hearts of millions. The animated shows and movies tend to hold a special place within the fandom.
Renowned for creating the infamous Spider-Man: The Animated Series back in the 90s, Semper is held in great regard. After the success of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, the filmmaker wanted to make a Ghost Rider show.
John Semper (via johnsemperjr on Instagram)
Being an established showrunner, one would expect Semper to get things his way with the higher-ups. But this wasn’t always the case. An interruption from former Marvel chairman Avi Arad, completely shut down the Ghost Rider show.

Exclusive: Squid Game: The Challenge faced an independent safety assessment after contestants on the Netflix reality series required medical attention during filming.

One of the largest reality television shows ever mounted, responsibility for production was shouldered by two UK producers: Studio Lambert, maker of The Traitors, and The Garden, producer of 24 Hours in A&e.
Hse contacted producers after receiving concerns about conditions on set, though it declined to specify who raised these concerns. Deadline understands that Studio Lambert and The Garden also reported safety incidents to Hse, which is a legal requirement in the UK.

With the 2022 Grammy Awards gradually approaching and the eligibility period nearing its last month (the deadline is August 31), who will be the most nominated artist this year? Achieving that can be both a blessing and a curse. The last two who topped the tally did well for themselves. In 2020 Lizzo racked up eight nominations, winning three. Then in 2021 we saw Beyoncé pick up nine nominations, especially impressive considering she didn’t even release an album that year; she ultimately won four awards and thus became the most awarded woman in Grammy history. However, Kendrick Lamar only won one award at the 2019 Grammys despite getting seven nominations, and Jay-Z and Rihanna both went zero-for-eight in 2018.

The TV Academy music branch is clearly not impressed by big names.
None of the superstars who entered the 2020-21 Emmy competition in the music categories — including H.E.R., Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, Sara Bareilles, Dolly Parton and Cher — were rewarded Wednesday when the 73rd annual Emmy Award nominations were announced.
Rather, the majority of nominees in the seven music categories were largely familiar composers, songwriters, music directors and music supervisors within the scoring community.
The biggest musical names nominated were Marcus Mumford for the theme for “Ted Lasso,” Grammy president-ceo Harvey Mason Jr. for “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” jazzman Branford Marsalis for a History Channel documentary, two-time Oscar winners Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez for their hummable songs for “WandaVision,” and Tony winner Marc Shaiman for a song on a YouTube special.

R&b singer-songwriter H.E.R. had an awards breakthrough just two years ago, winning a pair of Grammys in 2019. But she could already start rounding the corner of her Egot. In fact, she could end up winning three-quarters of that grand slam all in the span of one year since she has already claimed an Oscar and two more Grammys in 2021 and could next win an Emmy for writing the original song “Hold Us Together” from the Disney+ film “Safety” (watch the video above).

More than a dozen of music’s biggest stars, from Beyoncé to H.E.R., would love an Emmy to add to their award shelves.
A Variety review of the 535 entries throughout the Television Academy’s seven music categories reveals a surprising number of A-list singers, songwriters and music directors apparently eager for TV’s top honor. Among them:
H.E.R. (with Josiah Bassey) is entered for original song for “Hold Us Together” from the Disney Plus movie “Safety.” She won the Oscar earlier this year and already has four Grammys, so an Emmy win would put her three-fourths of the way to a fabled Egot. Beyoncé is entered for music direction and original song (both with Derek Dixie) for “Black Is King,” her musical film companion to “The Lion King” (also on Disney Plus). The song “Black Parade” won her a Grammy earlier this year for best R&b performance.

The 73rd Writers Guild of America Awards took place on Sunday (March 21) in simultaneous non-televised ceremonies held in Los Angeles and New York. The WGA was the first of the guilds to be heard from in this extra-long Oscar season. But don’t look to these results for any clarity on the screenplay races at the Academy Awards.
The stringent rules of the WGA prohibit non-guild members from competing. This year, three of the 10 scripts nominated by the writers branch of the academy were deemed ineligible here: the adapted screenplays of “The Father” and “Nomadland” (which we predict will win the Oscar) and the original screenplay for “Minari.”

New Delhi, Feb 25 (Ians) In its effort to fight child sexual abuse online, Google helped its partners classify more than 2 billion images in 2020, thus identifying the small fraction of violative content faster and with more precision and tackle illegal content referred to as child sexual abuse material (Csam).
In 2018, Google developed and launched the Content Safety Api.
"Using AI classifiers we built for our own products, the Api helps organisations classify and prioritise the most likely Csam content for review," Google said in a statement on Wednesday.
Today, the Api is being used by NGOs like SaferNet Brazil and companies including Facebook and Yubo.
Csai Match is a technology developed by YouTube engineers to identify re-uploads of previously identified child sexual abuse in videos.
"We use both hash-matching software like Csai Match and machine learning classifiers that can identify never-before-seen Csam imagery," Google said.

Somewhat lost among all of the huge movies making their streaming debut over the holiday season is a little inspirational sports biopic that's coming out today courtesy of Disney+ called Safety. Starring newcomer Jay Reeves as Ray McElrathbey, a college football player who put his career and scholarship on the line to be his younger brother's guardian, this is very much in the mold of other inspirational Disney classics, like Remember the Titans, Glory Days, and more. …...

“Safety” is a title that works on multiple levels. The new biopic, now streaming on Disney+, centers on the story of Ray McElrathbey, a college football player who made national headlines after he stepped in to help raise his younger brother while attending classes at Clemson University. As a defensive back, safety also happens to be Ray’s position, protecting deep threats as a scholarship athlete while taking care of 11-year-old Fahmarr.
As the film goes on, that title also feels more appropriate in another way. Over two hours, “Safety” looks to present the McElrathbeys’ experience in the least demanding way possible, carefully treading around its central subject matter. Nick Santora’s script begins with Ray already at school, settling into his opening week away from his home in Atlanta. When Ray and Fahmarr’s mother enters a substance abuse counseling program, Ray becomes the only family member left who...

Over the past 13 months, Disney+ has released a series of original films that are all heavily indebted to the era of live-action filmmaking that preceded the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before the studio had been packed full of franchises. In the last three weeks alone, they’ve leaned heavily on some of their most familiar live-action […]

Safety may not be a Christmas movie as such, but it’s a film made for all the family to enjoy – and what’s more, it’s full of hope and optimism, and what’s more Christmassy than that? The film is launching this weekend on Disney+ and to mark the occasion we took part in a mega virtual junket, where we spoke to leading stars Jay Reeves, Corinne Fox as well as Hunter Sansone and newcomer Thaddeus J. Mixon II. We even had the chance to speak to those behind the lens, chatting to director Reginald Hudlin, with producer Mark Ciardi and the real-life man this entire project was based on, Ray-Ray McElrathbey. Be sure to watch both interviews in their entirety below as we discuss the project at length, and even speak to director Hudlin about his time collaborating with the late, great actor Chadwick Boseman when they worked together on Marshall.

The holiday season is here and Pixar has a little gift for Disney+ subscribers.
After the animation studio’s next major effort was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the powers that be finally made the decision to release it on Disney’s streaming service. And that’s why you will now be able to watch Soul via Disney+ on Christmas Day. Soul stars Jamie Foxx as Joe Gardner – an inspiring jazz musician who finally gets his chance when his soul enters the Great Beyond.
Soul isn’t the only gift on Disney+ in December 2020. The sure-to-be-thrilling finale of The Mandalorian season 2 will arrive on Dec. 18. After those two beg exciting tentpoles, it’s pretty much business as usual for Disney+ this month (not that that’s necessarily a bad thing). An original movie of note, Safety, premieres on Dec. 11 and should at least be of interest to Clemson football fans.

In this article, we're going to give you guys the results of the Safety Suite comp first. Then we'll tell you who got nominated for eviction. For those of you who don't know, Tyler is the reigning Hoh (Head Of Household) after winning the Hoh comp during last night's Live eviction show. So, he will be calling the shots this week. Ok, so on to the Safety Suite results. First off, it was played by Enzo, Nicole Franzel, Memphis and Danielle. All the rest of the houseguests didn't get to play for it because they had already used up their chance in the previous two weeks.

We were thisclose to having an interesting week on “Big Brother 22: All-Stars,” but the “Bb” Gods frowned upon us, so we have the same alliance in power for the third straight week, and the two people who could’ve shaken this week up are in trouble.
Janelle Pierzina and Kaysar Ridha can see the writing on the wall with Tyler Crispen as Hoh. They know it. We know it. “It’s inevitable. No one wants us to play this game together, and that’s Ok,” Janelle told Kaysar.
Tyler confirmed to basically everyone not named Janelle and Kaysar on Thursday night that he was nominating them, which was music to Nicole Franzel‘s ears especially. Apparently she went off on Janelle when she designated her as a Have-Not, and Janelle was not having that, so we’ll see how much of that they’ll show on Sunday. Janelle is the target between the two,...

Just minutes after “Big Brother’s” Keesha Smith was evicted by a unanimous 13-0 vote over Kevin Campbell, the season’s second Head of Household was crowned: Memphis Garrett. Since Memphis is aligned closely with last week’s Hoh Cody Calafiore, it’s unlikely the house will see a big shakeup this week. Their six-person alliance, dubbed “The Commission,” also includes Christmas Abbott, Tyler Crispen, Dani Briones and Nicole Franzel, so this group will likely all sail through to next week. By the end of the episode, which two houseguests did Memphis nominate for eviction, and who won the Safety Suite competition?

101 Studios has acquired film and TV rights to Paradise Found, the nonfiction book written by Los Angeles Times columnist Bill Plaschke about the small town of Paradise, CA, which was ravaged by the Camp Fire of 2018 but which found hope in its high school football team and longtime coach, Rick Prinz. The distributor-financier is already in the works on a screen adaptation.
The project, also titled Paradise Found, will be produced by sports film and TV regular Mark Ciardi (The Rookie) of Select Films and executive produced by 101’s David Glasser, David Hutkin and Bob Yari.
Prinz said, “11/8/18 at 8:34 Am I sent this text message to the football team- ‘the plan is to practice at 3:00 today. If it is too smoky, we will modify our activity. I will keep you informed if anything changes.’ Eleven minutes later, we were running for our lives. These young men...
