Quite unusually, the movie was released barely three months after the completion of filming. It's more typical for major action movies to complete filming a year or more ahead of release, if only to handle all the post-production work, but in this case, all of the most complicated sequences were finished prior to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, so the directors and crew were able to finish nearly the rest of the film before the remaining scenes were shot in early 2024.
Joyner Lucas appears in this film as a gang leader who captures Mike (Smith) and Marcus (Lawrence). Joyner has previously expressed great affection for Will Smith, releasing a song and music video called "Will" where he portrays some of Smith's most famous characters. Smith even contributed a feature verse on a remix of the song.
Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, and Joe Pantoliano are the only cast members who have appeared in all four films.
Tasha Smith replaced Theresa Randle as Theresa Burnett. Theresa Randle retired from acting after appearing in Bad Boys For Life (2020).
At 1 hour 55 minutes, this is the shortest Bad Boys film.
Michael Bay: the director of Bad Boys (1995) and Bad Boys II (2003) appears as as an irked driver. He's shown driving a black 1990s 964 Porsche 911 Turbo, the same car Mike Lowrey drove in Bad Boys (1995), which was Bay's own car.
Khaby Lame: as a pedestrian in the scene where Marcus walks into traffic. The internet sensation, known for simplifying complex life hacks, filmed a couple of humorous videos with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence (both in character) to promote this film.
