The Eternals have an odd place in the MCU’s history. The world-shattering event of the film seemed to have had little consequence on the day-to-day lives of the people living on the planet. There also seems to be zero continuity nods to what happens in the Eternals, despite a giant space god showing up in the sky and abducting three alien robots.

The Celestial’s body in the Indian Ocean has largely been ignored by later films in the MCU, an oversight that is going to be remedied in Captain America: Brave New World. However, there is an opportunity to use the corpse as something more than just a showpiece, something that already has precedence in the comics: it can be used as a base for the new Avengers.

Of the five films Angelina Jolie has directed, four have depicted war. But her latest, “Without Blood,” delves most directly into the haunting aftermath of the carnage.
“I think conflict tends to bring out absolutely the worst in our behavior toward each other and often the best, when those who fight against or rise above,” Jolie said during an interview at the Variety Toronto Film Festival Studio. “As artists, a lot of our work is this study of what it is to be human. So these extremes of the human condition are what we’re trying to understand sometimes and are drawn to. Certainly I’m somebody who, as I’ve traveled and done other [humanitarian] work in the field, I’ve always questioned why and how.”

Once the premier shared cinematic universe in Hollywood, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has become something of a mixed bag with its recent projects. After reaching its impressive commercial pinnacle with 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," the MCU has struggled to find its way forward with both its television and film projects. From behind-the-scenes problems involving planned recurring characters to an overall lack of focus, the MCU has endured its fair share of setbacks. Critics and audiences have taken notice, with several MCU movies failing to break even at the box office, not to mention earning some of Marvel's lowest Rotten Tomatoes scores.
However, despite all the rocky returns and production issues, the MCU remains one of Hollywood's biggest powerhouse franchises, with some hits up its sleeve beyond "Endgame." In fact, some of the McU's most exciting, fan-favorite moments have surfaced in the Multiverse Saga storyline picking up after "Endgame." Here is every...

Kumail Nanjiani can relate to his Only Murders in the Building season four character.
The actor stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday where he briefly teased the current season of the Emmy-winning series, in which he portrays the “Christmas-All-the-Time Guy,” aka Rudy Thurber, a resident of the Arconia.
“It’s a guy who’s really obsessed with Christmas, which is good,” he told the late night host. “I love Christmas very, very much. And so, for me, it was not hard, because you know what, I was like 20 when I moved here, I never had Christmas, and then suddenly, at 20, you have Christmas for the first time. It was awesome.”
However, unlike some Christmas fanatics, who begin decorating as soon as Halloween is over (or even earlier), Nanjiani waits until the beginning of December to deck the halls, like a “reasonable” person, he joked.

Pedro Almodóvar’s “The Room Next Door” won the Golden Lion at the 81st Venice Film Festival. The Spanish auteur’s first feature in English took the top prize at the awards ceremony on Saturday, where he accepted the honor in person. Based on Sigrid Nunez’s novel “What Are You Going Through,” the film stars Tilda Swinton and Julianne Moore as friends who reunite after several years.
Though Almodóvar’s latest was not reviewed as enthusiastically as most of his films (a high bar to cross), the drama was still favored to do well at the Venice awards. When it premiered earlier this week, it was met with a lengthy standing ovation of almost 20 minutes — a warm reception even for festival audiences. And few are the cinephiles in Europe who do not consider the director of “All About My Mother,” “Talk to Her,” “Volver,” “Bad Education” and “Parallel Mothers” a living great.

‘Blade‘ is a highly anticipated Marvel Studios project that will introduce the iconic antihero to the MCU. Mahershala Ali, an Oscar winner, is set to play the title role, with Mia Goth cast as Lilith. Fans of The Vampire Hunter are eagerly looking forward to this film.
For Ali, the movie seems to be a passion project, and he appears to be dedicating significant time and energy to its development. However, the project has faced numerous challenges, with some even describing it as being in “developmental hell.”
Despite Ali’s current role as Blade and his voice cameo in ‘Eternals,’ there are rumors suggesting that he might return to the MCU in a different role if ‘Blade’ doesn’t move forward as planned.
As you might know, Mahershala Ali has played more than one Marvel character. However, his other role is far less well-known compared to Blade, Marvel’s iconic vampire hunter.

Despite the failure of Marvel’s Eternals, the cast members formed a great bond with each other while promoting the film. Angelina Jolie was definitely the star power in the team, and she used her charm to beat her costars in a staring contest.

Everyone knows Jolie can command people’s attention whenever she enters a room, and it’s even more difficult to dare her to a staring contest because no one would win, not even the stunning Salma Hayek, who is also considered one of the most beautiful actresses in Hollywood alongside Jolie.

Brian Tyree Henry got a surprising compliment while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” It happened because the “Atlanta” and “Eternals” star was waiting in the green room with Kimmel’s other guest for the evening, second gentleman of the United States Doug Emhoff, whom he dubbed “the sweetest man in the world.”
“I was like, ‘I’m coming over for dinner, right?’ He was like, ‘Absolutely,'” Henry told Kimmel on Thursday night. But the most exciting part of their encounter had to do with Harris.
“I found out that Vice President Kamala Harris is a fan of mine, so I was like, I can die now,” Henry said. “She apparently also wants me to have bigger roles. So if you are watching, Hollywood, she has requested it, and you must follow through.”

Blade's journey back to the big screen has been nothing short of headache-inducing. The movie was first announced at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2019 when Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige introduced Mahershala Ali as the McU's Daywalker.
Stacy Osei-Kuffour was tapped to pen the screenplay in February 2021, with the idea being to wrap shooting by the end of that year. The start date was soon pushed back but Bassam Tariq came on board to direct shortly before Blade made a voice cameo in Eternals.
Additional delays followed and Tariq was replaced by filmmaker Yann Demange. Beau DeMayo and Michael Starrbury had both tackled the script by this point, with Nic Pizzolatto and Michael Green following them.
Various cast members left the movie as it continued to evolve and then, this past June, Demange stepped down as Eric Pearson signed up to polish the script.

Marvel Studios is reaping the rewards of its cinematic comeback, as Deadpool and Wolverine continues to reel in audiences six weeks into its record-breaking box office run. It's a vastly different story to the franchise's tales of 2023, when two of its three movies underperformed at the box office and one of its Disney Plus shows received abysmal reviews.
Nobody ever expected anything less than a comeback from the Marvel Cinematic Universe considering it is the most successful movie franchise of all time, but it was an emphatic one at that, earning Marvel Studios a performance the likes of which has rarely been seen since its Infinity Saga days.
But still, precautions have reportedly been taken to avoid a similar year like 2023, including a "less-is-more" strategy which, in recent months, has resulted in a lot of uncertainty about a number of the franchise's in-development titles. Now, a new report has added...

If you're a pro wrestling fan, then chances are you'll be all too aware of how much better off WWE is without Vince McMahon. Angelina Jolie was grateful for the support of director Pablo Larrain as she learned opera for 'Maria'.The 49-year-old star plays soprano Maria Callas in the new biopic and was thankful that the 'Spencer' filmmaker understood how much effort was needed for the part.Speaking to Variety about the difficulties of performing opera, Angelina said: "It wasn't easy. I was fortunate to have a director who truly understood and respected opera. He knew how much work was required and assembled a team around me to teach me."He made sure I had the classes I needed and gave me the space to practice. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has produced hit after hit and, since 2008, grossed a massive $31 billion at the worldwide box office. However, recent years have seen Marvel Studios battle "superhero fatigue" and critics who no longer unanimously praise their output.

Over the years, the Marvel vs. DC feud has significantly died down, with both franchises focusing on their own specific styles and specialties. Having their own dedicated followers and a majority of them existing in both fandoms, audiences have been rooting for both franchises to succeed.

While they both occupy the same space in Hollywood, there has been an unsaid rule that the two do not blend into each other. While there have been some comic cross-overs, as well as Deadpool dropping some nods to DC here and there, it is rare for the franchise to outright reference each other in their films, opting for a more subtle approach.
Although this has always been the case, it was Chloé Zhao’s Eternals that broke this pattern. Upon the film’s release, there were several references to one particular film that made many fans raise their eyebrows.

Although this has always been the case, it was Chloé Zhao’s Eternals that broke this pattern. Upon the film’s release, there were several references to one particular film that made many fans raise their eyebrows.

Kit Harington recalled a troublesome incident that took place before filming Game of Thrones where he took sole accountability. The actor rose to stardom for his portrayal of Jon Snow in the hit HBO series, and like his character, he also faced a dangerous situation in real life.

It wasn’t as if he needed a sword to defend himself, but the actor was left injured after a rash decision he made that delayed filming and even forced the costume department to alter his wardrobe.

Injuries are common when performing stunts in TV and movie projects, but Kit Harington’s bad ankle didn’t happen on the Game of Thrones set. He was locked out of his apartment after a night of partying and realized he lost his keys. Without any other option,...

Captain America: Brave New World Finally Fixes the Eternals Plot Hole After 3 Years!
One of the most intriguing plot points left hanging after the 2021 MCU film Eternals was the fate of Tiamut, the Celestial turned to stone by Sersi. While the massive, marbleized body now occupies a significant portion of the Indian Ocean, it’s been surprisingly absent from subsequent MCU narratives.

Angelina Jolie enters her mahogany-paneled dining room in Los Feliz in a gauzy white sundress and slides, carrying a pot of herbal tea, three large dogs trailing behind her. It’s mid-August, and Jolie is about to do something she hasn’t done in years—travel to a bunch of film festivals to promote her movies. Maria, the Pablo Larraín biopic in which she plays opera’s defining diva, Maria Callas, is set to premiere in Venice, Telluride and New York; Without Blood, the war drama she wrote and directed from Alessandro Baricco’s 2002 novel, will be at the Toronto Film Festival, where she’ll be honored with a tribute award Sept. 8. For the past four years, Chinese audiences haven’t shown much interest in Hollywood movies.
So, the breakout success of Disney and 20th Century’s “Alien: Romulus,” a gory sci-fi thriller that earns its R rating, has been a welcome surprise. The newest chapter in the long-running horror saga has been the rare bright spot among American imports with $82 million and counting in mainland China. It’s expected to reach $114 million (RMB819) by the end of its theatrical run, according to forecast from Chinese ticketing agency Maoyan.
So far, only one other 2024 U.S. title, the Warner Bros. tentpole “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire,” has managed to make a dent on China’s box office charts with $134 million. And in terms of Hollywood wins, those riches come with an asterisk because the monster mashup was produced by Chinese-owned Legendary Entertainment and distributed by the company’s China local unit Legendary East.

Grab your flat caps, lads – Peaky Blinders is back, now in movie-length form. And befitting the leap from the small screen to the, erm, well, small screen just with a longer runtime (this one’s a Netflix production), the feature film is gathering some major names. It wouldn’t be Peaky without Cillian Murphy, who is of course back as Tommy Shelby – and we recently learned, too, that Rebecca Ferguson would be entering the fray this time. (She’ll be seriously deadly with a razor-tipped hat.) And now there’s another big name officially on board: Barry Keoghan has entered the game.
Yes, the Saltburn, Banshees Of Inisherin, and Eternals star has been confirmed as the latest addition to the Peaky movie, for which most details are currently scarce. We know it’ll be directed by Tom Harper, who previously helmed episodes of the show way back on Season 1, with...

The world of cinema is full of numerous superheroes, but the biggest and baddest of them all unarguably belong to either the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Universe. Despite both having a considerable fan base, the Dcu has always fallen short when compared to its comic counterpart, the MCU. This fact could not hold more true when it comes to ‘speedsters’.

It has been three years since Marvel's Eternals was released in theatres and the chances of seeing the immortal superhero team on screen again are dwindling.
Following poor reviews from critics and a less-than-stellar run at the box office, Eternals has become one of the more maligned installments in the MCU.
Recently, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed in an interview with Inverse that there are "no immediate plans" to move forward with an Eternals 2.

In one of the most surprising - not to mention divisive - Comic-Con announcements yet, we learned that Robert Downey Jr. would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom during Marvel Studios' Hall H presentation earlier this month.
Recent rumors had claimed that Rdj would be playing an evil Variant of Tony Stark, but the actor was introduced as "Victor Von Doom," and follow-up comments from the Oppenheimer star seemed to confirm that he has indeed been cast as an entirely new character.
Since the news broke, fans have been weighing up the pros and cons of Downey being reintroduced to the MCU as Doctor Doom, and while I am in the "let's wait and see" camp to a degree, I can't help but feel some concern that this is simply blatant stunt casting that could blow up in Kevin Feige's face - especially if Downey...

Robert Downey Jr. is coming back into the MCU, but not as Tony Stark. He will come into the MCU as a different character, and this time as a villain. He’s taking on the iconic role of Doctor Doom.
This has seen mixed reactions from fans. After all, he’s already made his mark on the MCU. Well, he’s not the only actor to step back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe but as a different character. Here are 13 who have done it before him, and some of them may surprise you.

The most obvious one, especially thanks to Deadpool & Wolverine, is Chris Evans. He initially stepped into the MCU as Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch, in the first bunch of Fantastic Four movies as the MCU got off the ground.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever wasn’t terrible and is arguably the least problematic film on this list, but it lacked innovation. Unlike some other films, such as Multiverse of Madness, it wasn’t a chaotic mess.

It began with 2008’s “Iron Man,” a film that introduced the world to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark with the hint that he could be part of something greater. Over 30 films later, the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still being told, albeit with various tributaries and detours that introduce new characters and new worlds that may or may not cross paths one day. Each film in the MCU stands on its own to some degree, but like building blocks, they all connect as part of one interconnected universe. Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao will next tackle an adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s bestselling novel “Hamnet” for Focus Features, and the project has a robust team in place. Oscar nominees Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal will star in the adaptation alongside Emily Watson and Joe Alwyn, while Steven Spielberg and Sam Mendes will produce alongside Liza Marshall and Pippa Harris.
The book is a fictional take on the grief over the death of William Shakespeare’s son Hamnet at the age of 11. Zhao co-wrote the screenplay with O’Farrell.
This marks Zhao’s next film after her one-two punch of 2020’s “Nomadland,” for which she won Best Picture and Best Director Oscars, and 2021’s Marvel movie “Eternals.”
Mescal has “Gladiator II” coming this fall for director Ridley Scott while Buckley, who received an Oscar nomination for her turn in 2021’s “The Lost Daughter,” next stars in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s “Frankenstein” twist “The Bride.

Look, I don't want to start off the new week on the wrong foot or anything, but sometimes harsh truths must be told. Despite whatever actors might claim during junket interviews, these thespians don't always (or even usually) sign on the dotted line of major blockbuster roles out of some deep, abiding childhood love of a character and iconography. Robert Downey, Jr. wasn't some lifelong Marvel fan before being cast as Tony Stark, "Star Wars" actors are under no obligations to brush up their Wookieepedia trivia in order to play a guy who swings a laser sword around, and "Eternals" actor Kit Harington recently went so far as to admit that he only joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe because, well, you just don't say no to that kind of opportunity. Oftentimes, a job is just a job ... and that's perfectly okay!

Kit Harington became a household name starring as Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones. The talented star successfully portrayed the complex and misunderstood hero who steadily rose through the ranks with each season. The character has had two significant love interests in the franchise, the first one being Ygritte, played by Harington’s real-life wife, Rose Leslie.

Jon Snow also developed a romantic relationship with Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen by the seventh season of the show. While Harington and Clarke were not close friends during the show’s tenure, they got closer once the show ended. The latter even visits often and plays with Harington’s kid.

Despite the MCU seemingly turning away from them, the Eternals were a team of characters that a lot of fans, if not all, enjoyed watching on screen. While some parts of their story were not as interesting as others, the film gave audiences some of the MCU’s best fight sequences and expanded the Marvel Universe. Further, the film ended on quite the cliffhanger, one that fans are keen on seeing resolved in a sequel, so that these characters may join the larger fight in Avengers: Secret Wars.

Rumour has it that the MCU might be keen on producing an animated series starring the Eternals. It has already been revealed that Ikaris will make an appearance in Marvel Zombies, whenever the show releases. While some fans are excited about the rumored development, there are still others who would prefer a full sequel with a competent director and writing team.

Barry Keoghan broke the hearts of millions across the globe with his Oscar-nominated portrayal of a hapless character in The Banshees of Inisherin. The actor then stopped hearts in terror with his sneaky cameo as the horrifically disfigured Joker in The Batman. However, it was The Killing of a Sacred Deer that solidified his status as a force to watch out for.

Despite his Oscar-nominated performance, Barry Keoghan continues to surprise across all genres including war dramas (Masters of the Air), thrillers (Saltburn), comic book epics (Eternals), fantasy adventures (The Green Knight), and even an upcoming Western historical biopic about the notorious cowboy outlaw, Billy the Kid.
When an accomplished actor such as himself gets entangled in rumored relationship dramas helmed by celebrity gossip columns, it is unlikely for fans to sit idly by and watch his reputation get deconstructed over social media.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige may have tried his best to get back on fans’ good side by allowing an explosive piece like Deadpool & Wolverine to materialize—not to mention he did succeed to a considerable extent—but his success rate seems to have diminished considerably. This comes after his latest comments further undermined the existence of 2021’s Eternals.

An already critically underrated piece of work, Feige seems to have further failed what could potentially have been a perfectly established McU-adjacent Eternals universe. This comes after he disrespected one of the most epic scenes of the film by choosing a game-based scene over it, canceling all prospects of a sequel that could have done quite a lot for the saga.
