The Secret of My Succe$s (1987)
Very funny movie...
Ok, so maybe some people may call this movie your typical 80's comedy. I don't think so I love this movie. I've seen it many times and laugh at it every time. It's a movie filled with things that you wonder if that could happen, most likely not but hey it's fiction. Michael J. Fox is cute as always and Helen Slater is great as the female lead. It's a comedy with some drama in it too and I love the ending. Rent, watch, and enjoy.
Marvin's Room (1996)
Superb and heartwarming
This movie has laughs and cries all rolled into one. Filled with Oscar winning and nominated actors that prove they have talent. Robert DeNiro is wonderful as actor and producer. Meryl Streep gives a wonderful performance as the rebel daughter that ran away from home and is forced to go back to help her sister played by Diane Keaton. Of course Diane Keaton was nominated for an Oscar in this role and it was a very deserving nomination. Leonardo DiCaprio proves that he is a man of many talents and not just another heart-throb that comes rolling out every couple of years. He'll be around for a while. The story had many funny times and many sad times it was filled with a roller coaster of emotions. I loved this movie and any one whose family has been affected by cancer can relate to what it is saying.
Jury Duty (1995)
Bad movie
This is one of the worst movies I think I've ever seen in my life. Who on earth spent money on this piece of junk. Whoever they are I am sure they are regretting it. I am not a Pauly Shore basher, I really liked Son In Law, but this movie is worthless. Do not see it, I'd say burn it and put it out of its misery.
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)
What is this???
Can somebody please tell me what is so special about this movie that it even made Jim Carrey such a big star. I think since this movie he's proved his talent, but what was so special about this stupid and outrageous comedy. I must admit I even laughed a few times here and there, but it's just not worth the time it takes to watch a movie to see this movie.
Overboard (1987)
Funny movie
I've seen this movie many times and I enjoy it. I think it has some very funny moments. It also has some stupid moments too, but so does any comedy. Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are a good team in this movie and in real life.
Hello Again (1987)
Stupid, stupid, stupid
I've seen this movie several times and I'm not sure why. I just saw it again recently after a long time and what was I thinking before. I guess I was young and stupid. The story is unconceivable and lets face it Shelley Long is not the greatest actor in the world. I would not recommend seeing this or at least don't pay any money to rent it and see it, because it's just not worth it.
Target (1985)
Action packed and funny
When Gene Hackman is unmasked by his son, played by Matt Dillon, that he is a former CIA agent he suddenly has a different view of his father. Hackman has to trace down his kidnapped wife and Dillon comes along for the ride. Hackman and Dillon make a good and sometimes funny team as father and son. This movie doesn't seem to be known very well, but it deserves a fair shake just like any other movie. It isn't the best movie in the world, but it isn't the worst movie either. If any one actually gets on this page and reads this comment I suggest they go find this movie to rent and see what I'm talking about.
Two of a Kind (1983)
Lovely movie
This movie didn't get as much credit as it deserves. I guess everyone expected it to have the same power as Grease because of its stars. This movie I think can stand on its own. It has a cute story and it does have that great star power. It has times when it's funny and it has times when it's romantic and it has times when it's dramatic. So it didn't have that same spirit as Grease if you give it a chance to prove itself you might actually enjoy it and not punish it for not living up to what people expected.
Romeo + Juliet (1996)
Leo and Clair what a team...
4 stars I loved this movie I think I've seen it probably 100 times and I love it more every time. Leonardo DiCaprio and Clair Danes are perfect together, they light up the screen. All I have to say it's gotta be good when my mom even liked this type of movie.
There's Something About Mary (1998)
Embarrassing
This movie is very embarrassing and not funny. Imagine going to see a movie on a first date and seeing a penis stuck in a zipper. Not only that but it seem to me they were making fun of retarded people which is never funny. Oh, there was the occasional laugh here and there, but all and all It's unbelievable that sometime actually spent so much money on making a film like this.
Rush Hour (1998)
Fun filled, action pack
This is a fun filled, action packed movie that never proves dull. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan make an excellent team. I had never seen an Jackie Chan movie before and now I see why he's so popular.
Ever After (1998)
A Fairy Tale come true
This is a wonderful movie. The story is so different but yet it still is the same old Cinderella which we all love. I think Drew Barrymore did an excellent job in the lead role. The rest of the cast were great too. I would definitly recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys romance.
