The Golden Compass (2007)
Deserves higher ratings
I read the book. Usually film adaptations don't come close to equaling the original book. This supersedes it which is so rare. They did an excellent job with the casting & cgi & pulling out extraneous material. A very enjoyable 2 hours. I might even buy the dvd.
North Country (2005)
Read the book CLASS ACTION.
2 hour fictionalized version of the story & case doesn't do this justice. Read the book CLASS ACTION.
The Republic of Sarah (2021)
Good start, keep it up!
First 2 episodes were good but it's slipping into cw typical. Keep it smarter & more on topic than teen angst.
Pooch Perfect (2020)
What a waste
I was so looking forward to this show. Without much effort it could have been so much better. Good concept. Horrible execution.
Frontier (2016)
Falls short
So much potential but poor writing, inauthentic costuming, stereotypical representation of history makes it more a "why bother, wasting my time." It just misses everywhere.
L.A.'s Finest (2019)
How do u spell HORRID?!
Seriously I know women actors need strong roles but this is NOT it. Talk about cliche every minute. The dialogue & personalities of the lead roles, well I just don't know people who talk like this. Blame it on west coast & Hollywood? Sad. I was hoping for something worthy of my time. Way too formulaic too.
Jamestown (2017)
Sad history made into a fantasy
I hope watchers dont see this as accurate history. Other than the mud & patriarchal behavior the rest seems quite a fantasy, especially the fancy women.
