The Council
The Council is the governing and executive body of the University. Its powers, functions and composition are set out in the Charter & Statutes. These include the power to establish committees to assist in the discharge of its responsibilities.

Council committees
The Council committees are formally constituted with written terms of reference and specified membership, including a significant proportion of external members. All are chaired by external members of the Council. The decisions of these committees are formally reported to the Council.
