This is an extended version of the classic poem and nursery rhyme, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. The rhyme and familiarness of this book would be best suited for children still learning to read, or even just a read-aloud book. Summary: This story is about a young lady who makes a wishes to fly to the sky and meet a twinkling star. Personal Reaction: I really, really enjoyed reading this book. Almost every child can tell you the first verse and I didn't know there were so many others to go along with it. The story is easy and fun to read. The pictures take you on an adventure right along with the rhyming story.

Extension Ideas:
Have students make their own wish upon a star. To go along with their wish, have students write the adventure they would go on if their wish really can true.

Have the students start with the first verse of this story and then complete another verse or two using their own creativity. Encourage students to share their poems with the class. ( )
