This is a wonderful book that sets the old familiar children’s song into a delightful story using the excellent illustrations by Iza Trapani to explain the story. My own garden is located next to woodlands, so each page is almost biographical! I love reading this book as much as the kids do. ( ) If you are looking for a great book that incorporates a traditional nursery rhyme with a bubbly story, then Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush is a must. Like all of Iza Trapani books, she takes this particular classic rhyme and creates a story of some sly animals and a worn out gardener. All gardeners can relate to those pesky critters and trying to do what they can to keep them out. But no matter what, no amount of fencing can deter those clever animals that jump over, tunnel under, slink through, or those that find any way in. Well in this book, those sly animals find many ways. What does gardener do? Does she give up and let the animals win or does she find a way to dupe them? Find out in this hilarious book. The illustrations help show you the creativeness of the animals as well as the gardener. A definite read aloud book.
