After visiting Eger Healthcare last week, the miniature therapy horses made their first appearance at ArchCare Senior Life (PACE) Staten Island in five years! Participants and staff were thrilled, enjoying the comfort and joy these gentle horses brought. Lauren Abate, wellness center manager, called it “one of the best programs ArchCare has ever had.” Our participants are grateful for their visit and can't wait to have them back! A big thank you to Horseability and their team of miniature therapy horses and trainers for bringing such joy to our community.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brian R. Biscotti, beloved son of Rich Biscotti, Executive Director of Providence Rest Nursing Home. Brian's journey was marked by exceptional achievements and a profound commitment to the community. A graduate of Archbishop Molloy and Villanova University's Business School, Brian excelled academically and professionally. His tenure at PwC showcased his talent and dedication, rising swiftly to the role of Senior Manager. Beyond his career, Brian cherished sports, particularly his beloved Mets, Rangers, and Jets. His passion extended to philanthropy, supporting Molloy, Villanova, and Esopus, where he enriched the lives of those with special needs through dedicated contributions. In his memory, the foundation established by his family will provide scholarships to academically qualified students at Molloy and support Esopus's mission to help those with special needs. This nonprofit initiative honors Brian's legacy of compassion and generosity. Our hearts go out to Rich Biscotti and his family during this difficult time. We're excited to share the success of our recent skills lab in Lourdes Hall at Carmel Richmond. Organized by our dedicated Staff Educator, Kristina Aziz, this event provided our team with a valuable opportunity to enhance their clinical skills. Skills labs are crucial for hands-on learning, allowing our Care Members to practice and refine their techniques. These sessions help us stay at the forefront of medical advancements and improve patient care. Thank you, Kristina Aziz, for organizing this wonderful event and helping us elevate the quality of care we provide.

Celebrating Our Incredible CNAs! This past week, our nursing homes came together to honor our dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants. The celebration culminated in a delightful grab-and-go breakfast, lunch, and dinner for our hardworking CNAs. The grand finale was an Ice Cream Social, complete with gifts for everyone and exciting raffle prizes for a few lucky winners. We appreciate and love our CNAs—without their dedication and compassion, we couldn't provide the exceptional care our patients and residents deserve.

Attention ArchCare Community! Here are some helpful tips from the CDC to keep you and your loved ones safe this summer. Beat the Heat: Know the Signs and Symptoms of Heat-Related Illnesses. Heat-related illnesses, like heat exhaustion or heat stroke, occur when the body can't cool itself properly. While sweating helps, during extreme heat, it might not be enough. This can lead to a dangerous rise in body temperature, potentially damaging the brain and other vital organs. Stay Safe This Summer! • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water; avoid sugary beverages. • Stay Cool: Find air-conditioned spaces. • Dress Appropriately: Wear lightweight, light-colored, loose-fitting clothes. Remember, heat-related deaths are preventable. For more information on how to stay safe, visit https://lnkd.in/gVSFaSGj

Twice a year, all ArchCare leadership gather to connect with each other, reflect on all we’ve accomplished and to realign ourselves for the future. Hosted by our Providence Rest Nursing Home, the setup was absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere was perfect for a productive and enjoyable summer gathering. We were thrilled to have Homero Bayarena from Franklin Covey with us, delivering an engaging and interactive session on cultivating trust through the 4 Cores of Credibility - Integrity, Intent, Capabilities and Results. Our CEO, Scott LaRue, also shared important company updates, highlighting the challenges we face in nursing home care and what it’s going to take for ArchCare to rise above. It was an inspiring day filled with valuable discussions, team building, and a lot of summer fun! #TogetherWeCan
