Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (ATVB)
Periodical Publishing
The official journal of the American Heart Association’s Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology.
About us
Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology (ATVB) publishes laboratory-based, translational, clinical and population research that is related to cardiovascular, peripheral vascular and cerebrovascular biology and disease. Areas of focus include atherosclerosis, lipid biology, arterial stiffening, thrombosis and hemostasis, and vascular and valvular biology. ATVB encourages submissions that use state-of-the-art approaches to illuminate mechanisms of disease and uncover new therapies and biomarkers through experimentation in animal and cellular models and in humans. The journal values novel technological developments—such as in bioengineering and with ‘omics platforms. ATVB maintains the highest standards of methodological and statistical rigor, prioritizes engagement with the research community (readers, authors, AHA/ATVB members, and our Early Career Editorial Board mentees) and publishes original research as well as scientific statements, viewpoints, opinions and consortium papers. Through dissemination of the highest quality research, ATVB supports the overall mission of the American Heart Association: to promote longer and healthier lives. ATVB is the official journal of the American Heart Association’s Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology.
