Just in time for the 2024 Olympics starting this week! Meet Simen Guttormsen. He is a native of Norway, a Paris 2024 Olympic Pole Vaulter for the Norwegian Olympic Team, a First Team All-American at Duke University, graduate of Princeton University, and recent Gold Medalist at the Atlantic Coast Conference Outdoor Championships. Since his arrival to the United States, Simen has obtained his Bachelor’s Degree from Princeton and is currently a graduate student at Duke University on an F-1 visa. Growing up in Norway, he was part of a very active family and has three other siblings. He grew up playing soccer, gymnastics, handball, basketball, and track & field. His father was a hurdler but Simen and his brother, Sondre, both exceled at pole vaulting and will both be representing Norway at the 2024 Olympic Games this summer in Paris.
