Because of a shortage in veterinary professionals, millions of pets may not have access to the care they need by 2030. We developed Banfield Pet Academy to inspire and grow the future generation of vets by connecting kids with local veterinary professionals - reaching +120K students since launch. In July, our hospital team in Norwalk, Connecticut visited the Room to Grow Preschool to teach (the cutest!) lesson on preventive medicine, which foods dogs shouldn't eat, and the significance of socialization. Veterinary professionals can learn more about volunteer opportunities on our website. #BanfieldGivesBack #VeterinaryCare #PetHealth #FutureVets #AnimalWellness #VetVolunteers #PetCare #VetTechs

🎉🎉 Celebrating 9 Remarkable Years! 🎉🎉 This week marks the 9th anniversary of Banfield Foundation, and what a journey it’s been! Over the years, we’ve granted more than $22M to make preventive care possible for the pets that need it most. 🐾✨ Our grants have made a significant impact: ✈ Care Knows No Boundaries: Our CKNB program breaks down geographic barriers to care by deploying teams of volunteer veterinarians and certified veterinary technicians to help deliver care to the vulnerable pets. From Native American Reservations in Alaska, Arizona, New Mexico, Montana, and South Dakota to the island of Puerto Rico and Saipan, more than 165 volunteers have provided care to 32,000 pets in under-resourced communities in need of veterinary support where there is none. 🐱 Community Care Grants: We strive to make veterinary care affordable and accessible for pets in need. That’s why we have funded medical supplies and services for animal shelters with on-site, mobile, or pop-up clinics helping 604,000 pets across the country. 🌩 Disaster Relief Grants: We’re committed to assisting nonprofit partners in providing crucial support to pets impacted by natural and other disasters, granting $1.8 million in financial and in-kind support for veterinary care, food, medication, supplies, and transportation of pets to safety. 🐶 HOPE Funds: Helping Overcome Pet Emergencies—or HOPE Funds- offers financial assistance for income-qualified pet owners facing life-threatening conditions. We have helped provide financial support to the owners of 1,409 pets by helping them overcome financial barriers and ensure they can provide and care for their pet. Our nine-year milestone is a testament to the incredible Banfield Foundation team, dedicated partners, and passionate supporters. But this is just the beginning! Stay tuned for some exciting developments and new initiatives that will help us make an even bigger impact. Here’s to the next chapter in making #abetterworldforpets. 🧡 #banfieldfoundation #banfieldgivesback #endingpethomelessness #proudlymars

Dr. Neino knew from the start that Banfield was where she wanted to start, stay, and grow—and she hasn’t looked back since! From vet school to a thriving practice, Banfield’s network of mentorship and opportunities has been key to her development. With multiple locations and a strong community within the Inland Empire of Southern California, she’s found the perfect place to develop her skills and make an impact. Whether she’s collaborating with RVTs (Registered Veterinary Technicians) or teaming up with nearby hospitals, Dr. Neino is part of a dynamic team that’s always ready to support her. And let’s not forget—being close to the wineries and Disneyland is a nice bonus! 🧡 Thank you for sharing, Dr. Neino! #BanfieldCareers #BanfieldLife #BanfieldPetHospital #ABetterWorldForPets #ProudlyMars #MarsVeterinaryHealth #VeterinaryMedicine #VetMed #Veterinarian #VetTech #VeterinaryTechnician #InlandEmpire Mars Veterinary Health DVM Taneeka B. Yesterday, Banfield’s chief medical officer Dr. Alea Harrison joined a panel of incredibly inspiring women at the 2024 Global Women in STEM Leadership Summit to share the important work Banfield is doing to foster a more inclusive and diverse future for veterinary medicine. What an impactful event, connecting leaders from all paths in #STEM to discuss the importance of advancing women in science and technology. Hear more about the event from Dr. Harrison below!
What a treat to attend and speak at The Global Women in STEM Leadership Summit! It was my first time attending the event and I relished the focusing on advancing women in science and technology. I got the opportunity to step outside the world of vet med for a bit and connect with engineers, AI experts, academics, and everything in between. There were many common threads between us, not least the desire to help the next generation of women not only succeed but thrive in environments where they truly feel they belong. I had the opportunity to join a panel discussion on best practices for leading social and cultural change and building a culture of DE&I. I was proud to share some of Banfield’s learnings and initiatives to build an inclusive culture where all our Associates can be themselves and do their best work together, from our Associate-led Diversity Resource Groups to youth-focused programs like our #NextVet internship. And I’m walking away with lots of great learnings and ideas from my fellow panelists – as well as some terrific new connections. My thanks to all! #BanfieldPetHospital #WomenInSTEM #BanfieldLife #ProudlyMars

Sarah McGibbon is one of our very talented Student Ambassadors—as well as a Student Job Program participant in Oklahoma City. Every time she’s in our hospitals, she inspires us with her adaptability and commitment to hands-on learning. Under the excellent mentorship and care of her team, including Dr. Amanda Yost, Sarah has shown so much growth. 🚀 We’re proud to help Sarah develop her unique strengths as she builds her capacity through veterinary school (go #OKState 🧡 ) and to support her continued development. The future of vet med is bright! 🌟 #BanfieldPetHospital #BanfieldCareers #BanfieldLife #ABetterWorldForPets #MarsVeterinaryHealth #VeterinaryStudent #Veterinarian #OSU #OKState #Stillwater Mars Veterinary Health Oklahoma State University Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine

Banfield's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Alea Harrison, recently made a visit to our Garner Hospital in North Carolina where she had a chance to catch up with NextVet intern Sahas and his coaches Dr. LaToiya Templeton and Brittanie Senor, LVT, about their experience this summer together. Our NextVet internship program helps students explore their passions for pets and a potential career in veterinary medicine. Thanks to our amazing hospital staff for spending time to coach and guide our future veterinary professionals! 📽️: NextVet Alum Shelby Carter #BanfieldPetHospital #BanfieldLife #BanfieldCareers #NextVet #Internship #CareerExploration LaToiya Templeton BRITTANIE SENOR

Banfield is proud to work alongside Mars Veterinary Health to foster self-care and help-seeking behaviors and create a workplace culture where our Associates feel empowered, safe, and supported. Banfield’s licensed clinical social workers and broader Health & Wellbeing team are integral to this work, supporting the practice’s holistic approach to Associate health & wellbeing and providing on-the-ground support for our 1,000+ hospitals nationwide. Learn more about the essential role of veterinary social workers here: https://lnkd.in/gQTjEndU
#ABetterWorldForPets starts with caring for the people who care for them. That's why we take seriously our role in supporting all aspects of veterinary health and wellbeing, with emphasis on mental health given the unique challenges faced by those in caring professions like ours. One of several ways we're prioritizing the mental health of veterinary professionals is through our growing network of in-house licensed veterinary social workers, given the vital role they play in supporting our teams and clients across Banfield Pet Hospital, BluePearl Pet Hospital, and VCA Animal Hospitals. Hear more from a few of our veterinary social workers and from our mental health and wellbeing lead and LCSW, Lisa Stewart-Brown, at the link below. https://lnkd.in/gQTjEndU As a reminder, our "ASK: Assess, Support, Know" e-learning— a course designed to help veterinary professionals recognize and address emotional distress in themselves and others—is available at no cost to all at askassesssupportknow.com. #worldsuicidepreventionday #mentalhealth
