One thing our clients often ask for is advice when starting to look for investment into their business. One of the best things you can do is qualify investors upfront. While the money can look attractive, if you get the money from investors who are not aligned with your organizational goals, it can be highly disruptive. We recently talked through this with Robert Manasier, Managing Director of EDA Funding on our Leadership IQ Series. Here is the link to that conversation https://lnkd.in/e8wEnm2D

The best way to grow your business is by delivering a product or service that sells itself. Here’s how an interim executive advises you to do it. We often marvel at companies like Apple, Google, and Walmart. These industry giants, worth billions of dollars, started with just an idea. According to an interim executive, the key to their success lies in market demand and execution. To emulate their success, you need a product or service that solves a real problem and can sell itself. Solve a Problem The best products address real, unmet needs. If you're solving a problem that has been overlooked by big companies or hasn’t received a good enough solution, customers will seek you out. Start with a problem you’re facing yourself, making you the first user to test your solution. This gives you valuable insights and knowledge from a customer’s perspective, helping you create a better product. Measure Growth Determine how you will measure the growth of your product. Revenue is often the best metric, but other metrics may be relevant depending on your product or service. Once you’ve established how to measure growth, use it as a benchmark to assess the impact of your efforts. If your growth rate is more than 10% per month, you’re on the right track. If it’s less, revisit your strategy and refine your ideas. Use growth metrics to test new features, projects, and ideas. Ready to take your business to the next level? If you have posted a senior level role to a job board recently, you know that you will get tons of applications. But how many of those are even remotely qualified for the role? In our experience, not many. The time your #hr team spends sifting through these unqualified candidates can be a major distraction from filling the position. That's why we started building a private network of senior leaders in 2005. These are the results orientated candidates you want on your leadership team. If you would like to stop looking at unqualified resumes and start talking to the right executives, send us a message.

Cerius also has been noticing a significant trend in the workforce landscape since the Pandemic that supports #IndeedHiringLab June 20th report. Contingent work is definitely on the rise each year, leading small, middle market, and large enterprises to explore the utilization of even more contingent workers. Great article by Carolyn Crist.

Hiring the right executive is crucial for achieving your strategic goals. A clear, strategic plan provides a blueprint for identifying the skills and experience your future hires need. At Cerius, we help you go beyond traditional job descriptions to find executives who not only fit your needs but also drive growth. Identify the expertise required to accomplish your strategic goals and compare it with your current team's skills. This gap analysis highlights the specific skills and experience you need to bring into your organization. For example, when hiring a VP of Sales, it's important they have relevant experience with your strategic initiatives, whether it's targeting new markets or launching new products. Transparency is key when working with a recruiting firm. Share your company's strategic initiatives and be honest about the challenges you've faced. This approach ensures a focused search process and helps you find the right fit. At Cerius, we've spent over a decade vetting executives to reduce the risk of a poor hire. Whether you need a part-time, temporary, interim, or project-based executive, we offer a customized solution from our deep pool of vetted professionals. Our services provide immediate access to the right skills and expertise to drive growth and manage complex projects. Ready to find the right executive to achieve your strategic goals? If you're in charge of a company, having a great pitch is crucial. Nail your next meeting with these solid interim executive tips. Become a Salesperson for Your Business As a business leader, you naturally become a salesperson. To grow your product, you need to tell people about it. Pitching your business to customers, investors, and even employees is a regular part of the job. Make sure you have a compelling pitch that excites everyone about your company's future. Impress with Numbers Numbers add credibility to your pitch. If you've been selling for a while, showcase your actual revenue and market share percentages. Highlight numbers that differentiate you from the competition, such as geography, features, or demographics. If your product or service is not yet released, share figures that demonstrate the need you are addressing. Use forecasted numbers based on actual data to prove your case's viability. Use Visual Aids Slides and visuals can greatly enhance your pitch. Despite seeming old-fashioned, PowerPoint presentations remain popular and effective. They help you convey your message quickly using text, media, and charts. Visual aids also help re-engage audience members who might have been distracted. Ensure your slides are clear and legible, with thick fonts that are easy to read from a distance. Speak clearly and slowly, and let your passion for your business shine through. While practicing your pitch is important, avoid memorizing it to keep your delivery natural and engaging. Transform your pitch and take your business to the next level with expert interim executive advice. Visit https://lnkd.in/ev8xfPJh to learn more.
