    Transportation Supervisor II Chick-Fil-A Supply

Chick-Fil-A Supply competed for the very first time in the N.C. State Truck Driving Championships this weekend. There was a record number 174 contestants participating this year. Three of those contestants were our very own Mebane drivers. All rookies to the game. Joey Williams, Terry Tucker and Justin Craven all competed fiercely for two days. There was a 40 question written knowledge test, a Pre-Trip inspection evaluation and driving skills course. These individuals studied very hard and practiced on their own time preparing for this event. In the end I am proud to say Justin Craven brought home a 2nd place Straight truck trophy. He missed first place by only 2 points!! We are so very proud of all of these drivers for representing Chick-Fil-A Supply for the very first time ever in a State Truck Driving Championship. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. It is a great way to show comeraderie, sharpen skills and demonstrate that we have some of the top professional drivers in the industry!! So proud to be a part of this great company! Can’t wait until next year. Chick-fil-A Supply

As an experienced truck driver and a fan of Chick-fil-A®, Andrew Ward remembers walking into one of the local Restaurants with his wife and commenting, “If Chick-fil-A ever starts a distribution company, I’ll have to work there.” Five years later, in September 2022, Andrew joined the first Chick-fil-A Supply® hiring group in Nashville. After six months as a driver, Andrew stepped into his current role as a Lead Driver Trainer. From promoting early dispatch in response to inclement weather to collaborating with the Route Planning Team to ensure Driver needs are met, he consistently seeks feedback and suggestions for improvement. Andrew delights in placing the Driver at the forefront of every decision. He credits Dusty Engleman, General Manager of Chick-fil-A Supply Nashville Distribution Center (DC), with helping him navigate his new responsibilities, “Dusty is always there if I need help thinking through a work project, but he also gives me the autonomy to carve my own path.” Andrew’s ability to represent the Chick-fil-A Supply culture has also given him the opportunity to travel to other DCs to train their Lead Driver Trainers, sharing best practices and lessons learned. “From the moment you walk in, you see how good the facility is, a break room full of free food, top-notch equipment, people you care about who care about you, and every opportunity in the world to grow,” said Andrew. “That’s what I tell anyone curious about working at Chick-fil-A Supply, you don’t know what you’re missing until you experience it.”

It was our pleasure to host Chick-fil-A, Inc. CEO Andrew T. Cathy at our Chick-fil-A Supply Dallas Distribution Center (DC) last week. Andrew shared encouraging words on the work of Chick-fil-A Supply, spent time connecting with the distribution center team, and met with Dallas-Fort Worth area local Owner-Operators as DC operations ramp up to support 225+ Restaurants in the region.

As a part of the Chick-fil-A® family, we are honored to celebrate the legacy of our Founder, S. Truett Cathy, who opened his first restaurant, The Dwarf Grill, in Hapeville, Ga. on this day in 1946. We remain inspired by Truett’s heart for serving and encouraging others and seek to extend the Chick-fil-A culture of care through a seamless delivery experience to our restaurants.  Truett reminded us to pursue excellence by asking, “Why not your best?” and encouraged innovation by sharing a favorite quote, “No goal is too high if we climb with care and confidence.” Truett’s legacy lives in each of our Distribution Centers as we seek to share the values he instilled in Chick-fil-A from the very beginning.

Talent Acquisition | Servant Leader | Most Caring Distribution Company

I can't believe it's already been a year since I started supporting Chick-fil-A Supply! Sometimes, it feels like I've been here much longer, given the numerous great initiatives, process improvements, and, most importantly, the welcoming work family that has embraced me in such a short time. On many occasions, I also realize that I'm still very new and have much more to learn! Before joining Chick-fil-A Supply, I knew that Chick-fil-A deeply cared for its employees and customers, valued innovation, and boasted extraordinarily high employee retention numbers in our industry. However, I didn't grasp the extent to which all of this was happening and how purposeful Chick-fil-A is about cultivating and preserving this culture. It's a culture where family and care take precedence, where benefits genuinely exist to support people, where employee development is valued and accessible through various programs, events, and connections. It's a culture where innovation is ingrained, where we are consistently reminded to have fun while serving, and where the Cathy family's incredible generosity towards our employees and communities is evident. And the list goes on! I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside incredibly passionate and caring leaders such as Adrian Clark, MBA, Courtney Rubino, Jeff Spratlin and Dustin Bennett, SPHR. Our leaders and employees in our distribution centers are also exceptional! The dedication to maintaining a caring culture is unparalleled to anything I've experienced before. Thank you, Chick-fil-A, the Cathy family, Chick-fil-A Supply staff/contractors for allowing me to serve alongside you as we care for others and strive to be the most caring company in the world. Let's continue supporting and building the fabric of Chick-fil-A Supply together! #workmilestone #1year #cultureofcare #purposedriven #bettertogether #pursuewhatsnext Chick-fil-A Supply

In the fast-paced hustle of running a Chick-fil-A® Restaurant, Local Owner-Operator Cody Hopper has found a welcome partner in Chick-fil-A Supply® Mebane.  Cody marvels at the level of care and service he receives from the Drivers who make sure everything is in place. One night, a Driver noticed a water faucet had accidentally been left on and turned it off. “These intangibles you cannot put a price on - the emphasis on 2nd mile service, being a steward of the brand, and partnering alongside of us,” said Cody Hopper, local Owner-Operator, Chick-fil-A Skibo Square. The impact of this collaboration is tangible, and Cody has even noticed a morale boost with his team. Multiple daily deliveries have streamlined inventory and created space for Cody’s team to shine while serving Guests at the Restaurant and in the community through Catering. For Cody, Chick-fil-A Supply® isn’t just a vendor; they are partners in excellence, showing care in every box delivered and every extra mile taken.

At 18 years old and fresh out of high school, Chris Sportello joined the military. Just two weeks after joining, he boarded his first flight ever and headed to boot camp. During his 11 years on active duty, Chris learned the importance of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. In the Fall of 1999, Chris transitioned from active duty to the reserves. He and his wife Candace were expecting their second child, so he started looking for a job that could support his growing family. He found an hourly associate role in supply chain that offered good pay and opportunities for growth. Within a short period of time, Chris was promoted and realized that if he continued to work hard, he could build this into a career. While in the middle of a 20+ year career across two companies, Chris heard of an opportunity with Chick-fil-A Supply®. He credits his wife and her heart for serving others with inspiring him to learn more about the company and the role. "I got to know the people [at Chick-fil-A Supply®] and the intentionality around how they connect with you. I've never had people reach out and say, 'Hey, can I help you? '" Chris remarked. “It just really aligned with mine and Candace’s personal values." Chris is grateful for his wife’s constant encouragement and support in pursuing this new role. Now, as the General Manager of Chick-fil-A Supply San Antonio Distribution Center, Chris is focused on constructing a team built around a family of culture with a purpose to serve their San Antonio community. “As I assumed leadership responsibilities in the military, I would basically say, ‘do this’ and they did it,” said Chris. “Once I was out of the military and working a civilian job, I quickly saw it would require a different level of investment to gain buy-in from my team. I realized the importance of building relationships with them and encouraging them to build relationships with each other. We are more than just metrics, we are people.”

Carrie Ingram, the local Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Peace Haven is a true Chick-fil-A Supply® enthusiast. Chick-fil-A Supply has served Carrie’s Restaurant since August 2022 so she knew they would be a trusted partner during arecent remodel. When Carrie closed her Restaurant for theremodel in October 2023, she worked with a Chick-fil-A Supplyteam that is dedicated to Restaurant remodels and grand openings. We love being home to Chick-fil-A Supply! Last week members of the Chamber team, along with representatives from the City Of Mebane NC, Alamance County Government, and our state and federal elected bodies joined private sector partners to celebrate the business success and growth of Chick-fil-A Supply. This was a great event that brought together our community leaders to hear from General Manager Walter Wallen about Chick-fil-A Supply, its culture, and how the company serves both its restaurants and the community. Alamance Chamber Board Chair Griffin McClure added that “The Alamance County business community is proud to have Chick-fil-A Supply be a part of it. While many of Alamance County’s residents enjoy their end product, having the logistics side of their business find a home here is the pickle on the sandwich. We look forward to many community partnerships in the future with such a reputable company.” Chick-fil-A Supply concluded our gathering with a facility tour and a $25,000 donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank of NW NC. #AccessMore #AccessAlamance #AccessGrowth #ChickFilA #CFA #existingindustry
