Thank you, NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE), for hosting the 16th edition of the International Conference on Cyber Conflict (CyCon) in Tallinn, Estonia. This year’s conference was more relevant than ever to the geopolitical realities faced by the U.S. and its allies. CISA’s subject-matter experts participated in sessions on #AI, combating #cyber threats, and lessons learned from #Ukraine. On the sidelines of the conference, CISA met with Estonia’s Information System Authority: RIA (Riigi Infosüsteemi Amet // Estonian Information System Authority (NCSC-EE)) to discuss critical infrastructure protection, our CSIRT-to-CSIRT relationship, and public awareness campaigns. CISA also joined the U.S. Department of State for a series of bilateral engagements, including with RIA’s Deputy Director Gert Auväärt to discuss the current threat landscape and CISA-RIA collaboration; U.S. Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Nathaniel Fick and State Special Communications Service of Ukraine (SSSCIP) Deputy Head Oleksandr Potii; and Estonia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss mechanisms for coordinating support to Ukraine, capacity building efforts in the Western Hemisphere, and upcoming opportunities for collaboration. In a world where cyber threats know no borders, this was an important opportunity to come together with like-minded partners to assess how our collaboration to address common cybersecurity issues has worked thus far, and to explore how we can better cooperate moving forward to improve our collective cyber defense capabilities.
