We acknowledged Juneteenth by having one of our frontline staff recite a Juneteenth poem ,during our monthly staff meeting 🫶🏼 On Juneteenth, may we celebrate the essence of freedom that galvanized the country, the progress we have made in our Nation, and all that is possible when we march forward together. Our chefs at UConn Health are honoring #Juneteenth by offering some of their favorite cultural dishes on 3 different menus over 3 days. Chefs Mike Walker, Judith "JuJu" Morrison, and Anthony Cardwell came together to craft menus that blend flavor, culture, and history to share with visitors at UConn Health's Main Cafeteria. Special offerings include Chef Mike's seafood & sides, Chef JuJu's Jamaican delicacies, and Chef Anthony's family-inspired barbeque. Today, we commemorate the end of slavery in the United States and honor the resilience and strength of the African American community. Join us as we reflect on our history, celebrate progress, and continue working towards equality and justice for all.

Tomorrow, we celebrate Juneteenth, the day that the last enslaved African Americans learned of their freedom. This important moment in history reminds us of the ongoing journey toward equality and justice in our country. At Compass Group USA, we will honor this day by continuing to advocate for a workplace where every voice is heard, every person feels valued, and diversity is not just celebrated but woven into the fabric of our organization. 

Rest supports recovery, health, and well-being. Week two of the Compass One Healthcare #2024WellnessChallenge is all about being well-rested. Megan Carlow, MBA had the opportunity to go onsite with the amazing environmental services team at UMass Marlborough and learn how they do turn down service so that patients can rest and recover! Megan was able to shadow the entire High Profile Cleaning (HPC) 10-step process and got to help make the beds. When patients come to the hospital they need a clean, comfortable, and safe environment, so they can focus on recovery.
