Creation Museum

So many fun projects going on at our Ark Encounter and Creation Museum Attractions Design Studio right now! Protoceratops exhibit, huge scale model diorama of first century Jerusalem, themed props (such as a chariot) for our new Welcome Center, and beautiful signage for our new Eden Teaching Center, to name a few!

We had the staff picnic for the hundreds of Answers in Genesis employees and their families Sunday afternoon. In addition to the Highland games that teams participated in during the event, there was also a baking contest, bounce houses for the kids, great food, and great fellowship. We love our AiG staff and families!

For those who would love to work in a Christian organization like Answers in Genesis, Ark Encounter, and Creation Museum, we will soon be opening up times for interviews for seasonal positions. These will take place in June for both the Ark and Creation Museum. This is a great opportunity for people like college students (and others) to take a summer job. We have some housing available onsite. And we have many other positions available across the ministry in various departments (including teaching positions for our Answers Academy K-12 Christian school). The Answers in Genesis exhibit artist team (that builds exhibits for the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum) is now creating digital scale models of all the residential buildings for the massive indoor Jerusalem model to be exhibited in the Jerusalem building under construction at the Ark Encounter attraction. Our artists will need to produce around 6,000 residential buildings for this massive first-century Jerusalem model. The model will measure approximately 60’x40’ and will be the most up-to-date reconstruction of Jerusalem. It is being built in a way that will allow it to remain current (with removable tiles that can be updated) as new excavations happen in Jerusalem, so it will have a long life of relevance to those who want to experience Jerusalem during the time of Jesus. It will be used as an evangelistic tool. This will be an attraction in itself and is slated to be opened early 2026. Did you know our staff cook over 80,000 hamburgers in a year at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum attractions? Of course, that’s just one of the many menu items available at the various food venues. During the busy season, tractor trailer loads of food arrive daily at both attractions. Yes, we feed a lot of people. Additionally, it appears that Coca Cola is in high demand, as many of our guest enjoy drinking it! Yes, it arrives by the tractor trailer load also. And during the busy times, thousands of meals a day are served at Emzara’s Kitchen at the Ark. We really need more people to join our culinary team. As the busy season is ramping up (although it already feels like the busy season), we will need a lot more seasonal help. Wow! Answers in Genesis’ amazing team of artists from our design studios just finished some stunning new murals in the Welcome Center at the Creation Museum. When you visit the Creation Museum, you will first walk into the Welcome Center where you will see these beautiful murals. Just another example of upgrades our design team works on to make the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter attractions the best they could be.

Our seasonal housing facility at the Ark Encounter is called The Landing. Our facilities crew is currently involved in the construction of a recreational building for our seasonal workers. This will be such a great addition for them. Our staff are currently working on installing the AC units and internal buildout. Construction on the new glass conservatory complex at the Creation Museum continues. This will be the largest such conservatory in the state of Kentucky that houses a permanent plant exhibit. Our horticulturists are working on raising many of the plants recorded in the Bible. The new classroom and dig site building framing is done, and the electrical is going in. The new grounds maintenance building is going up. Also, three supporting greenhouses heated with geothermal are also under construction. The zoo is being totally reconstructed as part of this project with brand-new animal exhibits (such as a wallaby walk-through area) and a large outdoor stage for live animal programs that is sponsored by Nutramax.
