Tour the Dau House, a Pennsylvania home designed in 1959 by architect Robert von Gerbig that blends midcentury modernism with traditional Japanese details. Inside, the home contrasts warm and cool materials with rich mahogany paneling and colorful terrazzo tiles, while a shoji screen-inspired backdrop grounds the dining and living spaces with horizontal lines that carry the eye. When they moved in, Dau House owners Michael and Margaret Grubiak discovered a roll of Herman Miller® fabric – Multiform by Alexander Girard – in one of the closets. It now hangs in their living room, a testament to the timeless quality of midcentury design. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/exghWdVR

Discover an archival reissue from Knoll: Mies van der Rohe’s Tugendhat™ Chair was originally designed in 1929 for a villa – also designed by Mies – in the Czech Republic. Created to work in concert with the villa’s interiors, Tugendhat features a distinctive leather strap back, soft cushions, and a slender steel cantilevered base. Though the design is nearly a century old, its perfect union of form and function makes it ideal for today’s interiors. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/e7SQ4u4R
