Mobilizing Durham residents to love their neighbors.

About us

The mission of DurhamCares is to foster collaboration, develop leaders, and educate the people of Durham to care for their neighbors in holistic ways. We are seeking holistic social impact through these initiatives: Durham Pilgrimage of Pain and Hope: A weekend immersion of visiting sites, hearing speakers, and spending time in reflection on how our stories, Durham's story, and God's story connect. Church Mobilization Network: A network that connects all the churches in Durham through geographically-based cohorts where pastors and leaders partner with other churches to listen to their communities and seek their flourishing. Community education: Events, workshops, and trainings to equip people to care for their neighbors in holistic ways. Sign up for our newsletter at www.durhamcares.org.

St. Francis Springs Prayer Center presents- Christianity DeConstructs Racism Using a Gospel framework that is thoroughly Scripture-based and courageously anti-racist, participants gain both a gospel understanding of Racism and the teachings of mainstream racial equity movements. Participants are guided through the profound meanings and implications for sound racial analysis that can lead to holistic actions. It provides a thick and true historical narrative to show the distinct nature of America’s original sin of racism. The authors of this guide have taken great care to accurately present racial equity understandings, while providing a Gospel framework to evaluate, enrich, and embellish those teachings. The aim is for people raced as white to join people of color in combating new and emerging forms of racism by understanding the full picture of historical racism and the forces that fueled slavery and violent domination. 🚶🏻Walk the Bull with Homicide Survivors  🗓️ July 18 @ 6:00 pm 📍 CCB Plaza - Downtown Durham Join families from RCND’s Grief Circle on July 18 at 6:00 pm for a third-Thursday communal walk of witness around CCB Plaza in downtown Durham. This monthly practice emerged in community among neighbors living in daily conversation with the human toll of our violence, and continues in hope of a City that might do the same. Everybody is welcome as we seek solidarity in the truth of our public grief, and the light of a Love that will not let any one of us go. 👇🏼 Tag someone that will want to attend. #DurhamCares #CommunityFirst #Durham #DurhamNC #Durm #RCND
