As we celebrate Women in Construction Week, it's essential to recognize the pivotal role that women play in shaping the landscape of the construction industry. In honor of this week, we are thrilled to share our own Laura Driscoll’s thoughts and experiences in the world of construction. Laura has been with Engelberth Construction for over 34 years, starting in the field as a runner. Laura now holds the position of Project Assistant. Thank you Laura for all you do! What led you to pursue a career in the construction industry? My father was in construction, so I grew up in it, so I naturally was interested. I had graduated high school and a position for a field runner had become available and I applied for it, and never looked back. What is the best part of your job? The people. They become like family. Why should a person consider a career in construction? It’s a rewarding profession because of the end result. Our projects benefit the community and the people that live and work in the projects being done, and it is rewarding to know that I helped in that. What are the advantages of being a woman in the construction industry? You can bring a different perspective to the work being done. What is the best career advice you ever received? My mother told me: Don’t be intimidated. This was helpful because I entered this field at such a young age, and it was predominately men on the sites. #wicweek2024 #womeninconstructionweek

  • Renovating historic buildings isn't for the faint of heart, but the efforts for revitalizing the DeWitt Block is one that is going to reap many rewards for the Brattleboro community. Engelberth is proud to have been a member of the M&S Development team who transformed this vacant property into valuable living and community space.

  • On Friday Dave Wheel, from the ESGR, presented Pierre LeBlanc and Engelberth Construction with the Patriot Award. This award reflects the above and beyond efforts made by an employer to support employee Guard members. This award is received through an employee nomination. We thank the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and our employee Hunter Anderson for this honor.
