Using social data and community feedback we saw our audiences asking to see real people's stories and relatable family history finds. We launched a competition, with the winner to star in their very own family history adventure. Our winner, the lovely Janet from Yorkshire, embarked on a quest with us to discover more about her 2x great-grandmother and namesake, Janet. Her poignant story is a reminder that family history doesn’t have to just be about watching celebrities learn of royal roots. It’s about the living, breathing people who came before us, and how their stories impact our present, and our future. What did we find? Watch the video to find out 😊 🎥 #familyhistory #socialmedia #genealogy #sociallistening #datainsights

We’re delighted to launch our brand new platform, the Social History Archive – providing UK and US institutions with access to the world’s largest digital archive of British and Irish historical source material. Catering to a range of academic interests, the digital archive contains over 14 billion records which offer centuries of data and insights. Through access to vast and varied source material, including newspapers, census returns, crime reports and emigration records, researchers can delve into the people, places and events that have shaped the world. Thanks to major partnerships with the likes of The British Library and The National Archives, the Social History Archive is an ever-growing collection – with new and exclusive records added every week. Powerful search technology delivers accurate results in an instant, while Single Sign-On (SSO) ensures secure on and off campus access. The platform also complies with accessibility standards and offers COUNTER reporting with SUSHI support. And this week we’re unveiling the new platform at the UKSG conference in Glasgow. Pop by and see us at stand 83 if you’re there! #university #research #digitalarchive #UKSG #tech

We love seeing positive feedback from our partnership with Blickling Estate in Norfolk. We are helping them celebrate the lives of people recorded in the 1921 census. If you’re curious about what your ancestors were up to nearly a century ago take a look at the 1921 census. 🧐 👇👇👇 #heritageopendays #Nationaltrust #1921census
It's been fab to see Blickling come to life today as part of #heritageopendays. We've been celebrating the lives of people recorded in the 1921 census as part of a partnership with Findmypast. Visitors loved hearing about a carpenter, woodsman, teacher and more, all with activities to experience a bit of life on the estate in the 1920s. There was also a horse in residence on the front drive; everyone loved Gracie! #findmypast #estateheritage #nationaltrust National Trust

Bike building, gaming, and running are just a few examples of how our colleagues spend their #MentalHealth Switch-Off time. In our fast-paced world, taking a break is essential for mental well-being. 🧠💙 That’s why we step away from our desks to recharge for one hour a month. How do you like to #SwitchOff? #mentalhealth #culture #wellness
