Healing communities-One Recovery at a Time. Built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ and 12 Steps for Christians.

About us

Firm Foundation Recovery is a nonprofit organization that was born out of the enormous need for a long-term God centered resource for those suffering with substance addiction in Delaware. We bridge the gaps and meet the most glaring needs for healing and recovery in our state. We unite fellowships along common principles for healing. We are building a long-term God centered recovery facility with transitional living and a work program. Together we can help to heal our communities one recovery at a time. Our vision for Delaware is to build a principle based recovery culture throughout our entire state that helps heal the root causes of addiction. These changed lives will be active in service initiatives and community events to further strengthen this healing culture. Everyone that calls Delaware home will have an investment and stake in helping and healing those once called lost. Our board is made up of exceptional people with a wide range of spiritual gifts. Every board member has a unique lived experience connected to addiction and recovery. God saved each of us through Jesus, and He continues to use us to reach those who are separated from Him by substance addiction.

  • Addiction prevention starts at home! The Art of Leveling Up  ·  Level Up As A Parent: Protecting Generation Alpha from Modern Dangers. How to Safeguard Your Child’s Future Without Overwhelming Them. As a parent of Generation Alpha, navigating the digital age can be tricky, but don’t worry — we’ve got your back. Research shows that proactive parenting can help shield kids from the negative effects of too much screen time and social media. The good news? It works! By following these five simple steps, you’ll help your kids develop healthier habits, make more friends, and enjoy a well-balanced life. 1. Parental Supervision Parents who want to keep their kids safe both online and offline need to dedicate some time to supervise their Generation Alpha children. While it requires a bit of effort and attention, it’s completely manageable and well worth it. Here’s how to do it. Set Clear Rules: Just like setting a bedtime, establish rules for digital device use. For example, no phones during meals or after 8 PM. My neighbor has a rule that all devices must be turned off one hour before bedtime, and it has improved their family’s sleep quality significantly. Monitor Usage: Use apps like Family Link or Screen Time to see what your kids are up to online. For instance, one mom discovered her daughter was spending hours on a drawing app through Family Link. She encouraged her daughter to take a local art class, turning screen time into a productive hobby. Educate About Risks: Explain the dangers of the internet, like you would talk about stranger danger. One dad used news stories to start a conversation about online safety, sharing real-life examples of what can go wrong and how to avoid it. Create a Safe Environment: Keep devices in common areas. A friend of mine keeps the family computer in the living room, so it’s easy to supervise. This setup also naturally encourages more family interaction and reduces the chances of secretive behavior.
